I’ve already moved on tbh. Hamer was a good player but he was inconsistent to fck. Add to that the fact that 1) he could only complete 2/3 of a match and 2) was always liable to silly bookings. Considering all that, plus the fact he was in the final year of his contract, I’m more than happy with the reported fee of between £6m - £9m. I don’t think that replacing him will be as difficult a task as what replacing a player like David McGoldrick was. (Imo we still haven’t done it, but that’s down to the consistent quality he was). All just my opinion of course 👍

Even if we hadn't it makes no difference. It would just cancel itself out and it's not like that would be the difference between Cov being able to afford him. It's the most pointless rumour in a long time.
 
Not so much a 'failed his medical' territory, but is there ever a situation where a club gets a player on a medical and thinks "Nah, fuck that, he's not as fit as we thought he'd be?" 😂

With Hamer they may certainly think it might be a bit of an uphill task to get him Premier League fit that's for sure.
 
Yep our shoes off in the car park got some great results to get rid of our shit board ,at least cov lot stopped going , it took a number of years and a new ground but they did it and bought one of our best players and in the promised land

Honestly I don’t wish them any ill will. If anything I’ve liked Lampard dropping down and doing well rather than when his media chums were bigging up average performances.

What their beef with us? Hecky signed Hamer, probably not for 15m as we went down, more likely 10-12m. He’s not with us. Wilder gets on with Lampard and always speaks highly of him.

They disrupted our game with them once when we were going for promotion. It didn’t matter to them but did to us. That’s us wronged, not them.

We signed O’Hare under freedom of contract when he wasn’t even their player anymore.

Yet somehow there’s a view that Hamer going back there is getting one over us? Wilder has repeatedly stated club policy is to not let players leave for free. Coventry, as far as I can tell, as the only ones to make a bid.

We’ve probably got 6m rising to 8m or something similar.

Where’s the issue? Seriously?

It’s like someone saying “ha. That gets you back for shagging my girlfriend.”

If what some have alluded to, Football is probably the last thing on his mind, for whatever reason. Probably contributing to his current state, maybe? I really don’t begrudge him.

Will we miss him? 80% of the time no. But Gus when he’s on it is a cheat code, and can do something ridiculous in a second to change a game. He’s also the only one who will try anything different.
 



Some of his performances and bits of brilliance have been worth the price of admission. He's never downed tools and some in his position would've engineered a move a couple of years ago. That said, I've always thought we were too reliant which might have held us back. Time will tell, but maybe we might look a bit more balanced and the rest of the midfield might start contributing more.

Now he doesn't play for us anymore, I can say good luck you fat bastard.
 
Is this still going through?

I've seen a handful of people over the last 24 hours across the net, who aren't BS merchants, say they've heard it's hit a stumbling block around his medical.

Well his medical was only held yesterday. I would say either today or tomorrow. Most likely filming his video for their shit social media!

I think that was likely offered to him ages ago. As Wilder said if he hasn't signed one by now then there isn't much you can do about it.

I expect they are doing filming for his announcement. I guess Coventry are like ourselves and take about a week to film the signing video.
