England Uncapped World Cup Squad With a Blades Bias

Being laid up with a back injury and bored when there is no World Cup game on; I got to thinking about good players who never played for England. I put together a squad with a Blades bias as there are many former deserving Blades who never got to play for England or got fewer caps than they should have. Therefore, my squad contains a few former players, loan players and managers. I have not included players who were eligible for England but ended up playing for other countries e.g., George Baldock. Some of my squad were capped at junior level but never got full caps. I have gone as far back as the mid 60s when I first started watching United and I can just about remember Joe Shaw.

Anyway, here is my uncapped squad with an unashamed and unapologetic Blades slant.

British stadiums.


Both have 16 stadiums over 45k capacity.

A full UK tournament could theoretically work, in terms of capacity at least.

But it's unlikely to happen, for many a reason
