Wow….impressed….easily the best team so far and really entertaining
USA have totally blown away a sorry looking Paraguay….could easily be 5-0 at half time.

I’m a bit shocked….US playing some really good one touch football (like Brazil on a good day) and look fitter and physically stronger too.
Might sound daft but playing like this….they are contenders to go very far.

However we’ve seen how world cups are often about peaking at the right time.
Also Paraguay are poor and look shocked only having 1 or 2 attacks. Atmosphere been really good too.

I've lived here in USA for 33 years and been a citizen for 25 but still get pulled every time I travel back here. I put it down to when I had duel passports and tried to leave on one and come back on an other[thought I was like James Bond] getting ta front either way but they're mekin me av it now every fukin time.Just applied for me 3rd passport but haven't heard owt yet ,but I can imagine its a shitshow.No intention of going to a live game anywhere.

Yeah I was a bit disappointed in Paraguay. Based on recent performances I wasnt expecting much from the yanks, but Paraguay were very poor first half.

Looking at previous fixtures, seems Paraguay are decent on their own patch but shite away. Dont expect much from them against Turkey or the Aussies then.

I watched the who game and was bored once it was 2-0.

Thought Mexico were average/ OK…..this isn’t meant as an insult….they were decent but nothing more.
However it was hard to judge because I thought South Africa were really poor.

I watched some of the world club cup last Summer and the South African champions Mamalodi Sundowns were surprisingly good and very attacking.
The South Africa national side is most the Sundowns team so I had fairly high expectations but South Africa never looked like scoring at any point.

It was a bit of a non contest really, give the match 4 out of 10 for entertainment.

Mexico reminded me of watching United with all the sideways and backwards passing, some might call it professional when you are 1-0 up but it was boring especially against 10 men.
Now Canada were a different kettle of fish always looking too attack quickly, yes they lacked a bit of composure in front of goal but they were very entertaining and i enjoyed watching that game.
Thats how I would love United too play.

Really enjoyed some of Canada quick throw ins, almost like not letting the opposition get back into position is a good idea!

I suppose it’s what you call “being professional”.
Mexico knew gaining just 1 win can mean qualification to the next round, so it takes the pressure off.

Found the Mexico- South Africa game a bit boring in the 2nd half because you could see Mexico were playing within themselves and just settling for the win
South Africa looked really poor and never looked like threatening to score…..so the match just drifted to an comfortable 2-0 win.

Very different to last night. USA looked very psyched up, like they were on a mission to impress, attack and keep attacking.
In the past the US have always reminded me of a Scandinavian team (eg a Norway or Sweden), strong, athletic but a bit stiff and well organised.

However it’s the 1st time I’ve seen USA play with flair and they had a swagger knocking the ball around with ease with quick 1 touch football.
Even the commentators in the BBC studio during the post match reaction were quite shocked at how good the US were.
Also noticed that the atmosphere inside the stadium was great too.

Suspect there’ll be loads of hype now about them reaching at least the semi’s but anyone with football knowledge knows you never judge any team on 1 match.
We’ve seen United last season play brilliant one game…then follow it up looking so poor, like a totally different team.

Mexico were the only side that looked like a World Cup side.

SA just looked woeful, unorganised and like a kids team.

Canada v Bosnia though was different level. Reminded me of the few times I’ve watched women’s football or MLS, technically and tactically alright, but the standard is so low and slow. Keepers terrible. The game seemed exciting because it seemed that both sides created action. But the standard is extremely low. No wonder Jebbo managed to get some games for Canada.

The Canadian fans though, they just sound like TEMU USA fans

So far, from those two games I can see me not watching much until after the group stages.

I missed the Korea v Czechia game. I'm two hours ahead so the USA game kicked off at 4. Im usually up at 5 for work so watched most of it.

Will watch first half of Qatar tonight, and 2nd half of Scotland early morning.
