Player Suggestion Souttar played and scored last night

The star article that gets on my nerves is the one that seems to come out almost every other day along the lines of Wilder sets out transfer blueprint" from an interview he did over a month ago. It would be better to not have any article than that!

The Star really is poor and never reveals anything of note. It's time they forgot about football rumours completely.

Souttar played 90 mins vs Mexico. Australia lost 1 nil. Was a pretty scrappy game interrupted by stupid drinks breaks (was only 18 degrees n LA?!) and 20 substitutions in second half.

Souttar played well. Bombed forward and put in a few lovely crosses and had a scrap with a 5 foot nothing Mexican player which was funny seeing him front up to Souttar. He'll definitely be in the squad.

Sounds like it’s ripe for a loan with a view to buy clause. Less risk on our part, Leicester reduce their current financial burden, player gets a chance at a club in a higher division that he has had a good successful spell at before, working with people that believe in him and know what he can do when fit.
There’s plenty of upsides to balance the risk on this one.

Plus, he’s not McGuttless

I’d love him back if the deal works and provided he’s fit enough. Some sort of cash plus McGuinness would be ideal too

A loan to buy deal would be the smart move. I'd be worried if we dived in and bought him outright first even though he appears to back playing 90 mins of football.

My only question on this signing is that neither he nor Tanganga seem to be able to play on the left.

Anel and Bindon played on the left with them if I remember rightly?

We all know how this will end. Our best hope is a swap deal for McGuinness.

i think souttar phillips and walker are our top 3 targets this summer wilder has alluded to the fact he wants more experience in the squad of late add another 3 younger signings to the squad as well as those 3 and think weve a great chance of a top 6 finish

It's certainly a strong spine if they are all fit and firing. Assuming Hamer and Peck are sold:

COOPER
WALKER - SOUTTAR - LCB
SERIKI - PHILLIPS - CM - BURROWS
BROOKS - O'HARE
BAMFORD
The spot next to Phillips needs to be an athletic player capabale of the box-to-box role.

If we are going 3 at the back then I wouldn't be against Hjelde coming in as first choice LCB. Just trying to thing of other decent left-footed CB's - Jacob Greaves, Cameron Burgess, Matt Clarke, Aaron Cresswell (old), Callum Doyle, Eiran Cashin - there's not a massive pool of talent out there

I really hope we sign him. He's a very good player. There's nothing to lose even if he gets another injury.... Wilder likes signing injured players, hence his determination to sign Calvin Philips. If we don't sign Soutar we'll just sign another injury prone player instead.

im pretty sure wilder sees walker as rcb in a back 3 who can also slot in at rb if we switch to a back 4

Contact at Leicester reckons he’s coming for £3m this window. Just waiting on my source to give more background. He messaged me this morning out of the blue that it’s happening.

Wonder who's going out first to get us that £3m?
