Should we demand compensation from the EFL?

The Forest goal keeper had info about our penalty takers from a spy.
No action taken, yet Boro have been handed a place in the final after effectively the same misdemeanour.
It's closed season, please don't ask me to just let it go ;)

No

We have no mitigation as we were crap at penalties and the EFL and everyone in football knows we bottle the big games.

'Does the Sheffield United defence have anything to add'

'No your Honour. We rest our case and apologise to the court for wasting your time. We will, of course, be agreeing a costs payment to the court, as is usual in vexatious claims'

Damning with faint praise when his loan contemporaries were Hoever and Hjelde.
Not really. Read the game well and could pass the ball. Not strong enough would be my only criticism. He's a young lad who deserved more leadership alongside him. He'll turn out to be a decent signing for someone IMO.

He was the best of a bad bunch but we should be looking for better.

Meh.

If your penalty takers can be figured out by a spy, it's because they're not great at penalties.

A good penalty taker should be unpredictable. Where the ball is going shouldn't be easy to work out. And even if they didn't have prior knowledge, Gibbs-White fucking telegraphed that penalty. He looks to that corner at least 3 times during his run up. Utter fucking waster from 12 yards, even if he'd been stunning in the regular season.

(Apologies - that penalty is a sore spot for me if you hadn't noticed)

To an extent. Kane is a good penalty taker as he can smack it in the top corner on the strong side with extreme consistency, if you get it on target in the top half of the goal it's converted way more than average. Of course, he does hit it low the other way on occasion so the keeper doesn't absurdly cheat to the strong side, but if you just practice hitting it in top corner repeatedly you'll be a far, far better taker than the average player

It’s the funny how the lower down the pyramid you go or the smaller the club the less lenient the authorities are empowered to be.

Saints caught spying? Out you go!

West Ham caught blatantly cheating - oh it wouldn’t be fair on the fans! (Of them!)

Swindon caught with illegal player payments - down you go two divisions. Ok call it one.

Spurs similarly caught with illegal player payments - big points deduction. No wait. Let’s just make it a fine.

Then you’ve got City and Chelsea.

It really sickens me how authorities are swayed from just applying fairly the rules.

Same for SWFC (2026)

What absolute rubbish he had information from the coaching team on a piece of paper which ALL clubs do even us
What Forest did doesnt in anyway imply spying

Where do you think that information came from?
Neither Berge or Ndiaye had take a senior penalty before in their career, never mind for us.
They were obviously pre-chosen to take one, and practiced with the others in the run up to the game.
Why would their coach write down which way to dive if they didn't know?

Edit: Actually, forget that.
I just remembered Berge did take one for us.
F*****g ChatGPT!

Anyway,
This was a shit thread and I humbly withdraw it. whilst apologising for wasting people's time.

Note to self. FFS, stop getting drawn in to stuping f*****g conspiracy theories.

Joking aside, I'd have kicked them out because their fans ran on the pitch and assaulted our players. The fact that this keeps happening and nothing seems to be being done about it is worrying.

Can see it going really badly one day in the future; they could have used that event to set a precedent that it wasn't tolerated. Instead, they allowed a dog nonce to go after our players instead. Mental.

Berge definitely had.

He scored in the penalty shootout at Burnley at the start of the 2020-21 season in the League Cup which we lost 5-4.

He then scored another penalty to put us 0-1 up at Anfield against Liverpool in the Premier League a month later.
