Ings mee and ogbene all so impressive in their interviews

Really inspiring people can't be a bad thing to have them around in a side that has been mentally fragile for a long time
Like three harry souttars
Just been watching his clearances off the goal line unbelievable depending honestly 👏

Some one on Twitter said if he has played one more game we would have had to pay out an extra Payment for him that’s why he disappeared from the squad
Seems a bit odd that. He played 15 league games for us and 1 FA Cup appearance. Would be weird to have an extension clause for 16 league appearances.

It was only one Twitter post so no idea how accurate it was .. but if the initial fee was for 15 games then to me that sort of seems to fit …, but 🤷‍♂️

Well he disappeared when he got that hand injury but it's odd that he didn't comeback when he was fit. I think he did have a minor operation on his hand? but he seemed to end up doing work for Sky Sports once he was fit. 🤷‍♂️

In other news, bear found to have defecated in wooded area!

What an utter waste of a wage/loan spot he was.
And McGuinness and Tanganga are keeping the clean sheets and putting in the graft? He wasn't a loan spot either, on a free managed to settled the squad but at aged 36 often doing the job of 2 CB's and often covering for Burrows too being LCB can't have been easy. It was a sensible signing and he did his bit when he was available.

We know that defence for us is an active area for recruitment, I guess for Mee he has media or coaching opportunities and you take the opportunities when available. If there is any truth in the "15" starts, I am not quite sure why he wasn't a bench option when fit as bringing on more experience into the CB's after "Jairo hour" would make more sense if switching formations than bringing on Bindon for McGuinness.

Super disappointing signing.
Didn't offer what I thought he might and never seemed to really buy into the club.

He disappeared a long time ago and the impact was negligible.

Yeah. Underwhelming. Good luck to him though, seems to want to chase a media role.
He's well articulated, but probably lacking too much in charisma and reputation to reach the top of that tree.

Probably more reputation as if Gary Neville and Roy Keane can still be in their jobs it's defiantly not on charisma! Possibilities at the World Cup for Mee maybe, a bit of media work and do a 1/2 season in the MLS afterwards.

I thought when we were starting to pick up results, he did well and we almost looked like we had a more settled defence. That said that was during a period McCallum was still fit. Once Burrows came back in we have looked awful down that side of the pitch. His last appearance was the the home win against Ipswich, where I thought we looked at at our best.

Given his age it's probably best to let him go anyway, I don't think he was ever a signing that was going to be more than 1 season.

Totally agreed, the McCallum injury finished our season really, the problem was Mee was covering too many positions if Burrows was in the side as he was having to cover LCB and the space opened up by Burrows. It is too much of a risk on the salary he probably needs/wants for a 37 year old CB but saying that he was a consistent player for those 14 league matches in terms of minutes being available.

I assume Wilder thought Mee would struggle or was starting to struggle in the absence of McCallum.

Depends how you phrase it, "more than 15" sounds less unlikely

He was one of the common denominators around the steadying of the ship when Wilder came back and was largely decent until he went to get his hand operated on. Certainly not as culpable for most of the mistakes at the back as McGuinness, Tanganga or Burrows.

He was the experienced head we needed at the time, we just need another one in now who's about 5 years younger and do the job he did for a bit longer.

He started our first league win at Oxford i think. We did seem better then.

Was there a fall out or something? Seems weird if there was that he posts a photo with Wilder? ‘Not given the chance to do so’ what does that mean?

It looks that way if you break it down.

Has surgery on his hand at the start of December and is out for for 4 weeks or so.

Returns in January plays in the dodgy Oli Langford red card show loss at Charlton.
Plays in the spozzy deflected goal game away at Soton
Plays in the great 3-1 win over Ipswich.
Suddenly he is on the bench the following week for the Millwall away game at the end of January and has not been seen since.

What is it with Wilder and doing things like this?

Am I speculating and not itk but I wouldn’t be surprised given Mee’s coaching experience he has put some suggestions into the mix and Wilder didn’t want anyone stepping on his toes. I might be wrong but it’s strange he doesn’t even make the bench!

I suspect it's probably more to do with the last sentence here. He'll have been close to triggering an extra year we didn't really want to give him. He got us from bottom to mid-table when the defence's confidence was shot which is realistically what we signed him for.

That makes sense. Probably a decent wage too

That would make sense, but a couple of things makes me question that.

1. After the Ipswich win, I doubt we were ready to throw in the towel on getting in the playoffs, so it wouldn’t make sense to freeze him out at that point.

2. Surely it would’ve come out before now that the reason was a contract clause. Clubs usually have no problem letting that information be known.

Something did happen. I'm not entirely sure what but there was a fall out. Notice Mee fails to mention Wilder in his statement.

Not sure it will ever come out unless Mee releases a book
