That also shows how easy it is to undermine good work by one disastrous window.
Strong possibility they to a squad that gained 92 points on the field he would have added McBurnie, Dunne and Darling. All on frees. All of them would have added to the squad positively.
But no, we took the sledgehammer out and the owners got it completely wrong and it’s us the supporters who pay for it.
It needed slight evolution. That was all and especially now you see the quality of the league with the team who was 5th running away with it. We’d have made top two this time. I’m confident.
Spot on
If people don’t think that CW is trying to address our issues they must be crazy .
He got a tune out of this shower and overachieved imo during autumn / early winter .
He’s right - most of these players aren’t good enough in terms of spirit , fitness , intelligence and resilience - imo . Sure , they can play some lovely stuff but don’t have the character to get over the line on many occasions.
Our recruitment is appalling- especially last summer and this January- but January is easier to forgive as many of us , and respected football pundits , were of the opinion that Phillips and Rothwell in particular were what we needed to make a push for the top 6 .
We had a threadbare midfield at the time ,with little experience ,also unreliable players such as Tom D , O Arblaster etc . It just hasn’t worked out .
The problem isn’t Wilder , it’s the owners who screwed up royally .
We have too many players who have backbones made out of glass
And to add - maybe one of the reasons why many players are running out of gas is that they always seem to be one slight contact away from mid to long term injury . They always seem to need rebuilding . Therefore they need game management . It’s a continuous cycle of a problem .
Replace a glass built player with a glass built player
