He seems to be liked by Wilder as early doors he was calling him “Chongy” not sure if they go back or if he has just impressed in training but it’s working out his best position, I think if we get rid of Hamer that could open it up more for him.

Can’t imagine Wilder being too creative with his choice of nicknames.

In one of the pressers he said it was because he couldn't pronounce the rest of his name. It surprised me a bit but then having seen the title of this thread ....

He also can’t pronounce Soumare’s name, always calls him Diji. None of the players seem to struggle with it. He also pronounced the Sunderland manager’s first name to rhyme with Cyrille Regis. Seems that, similar to Jack Charlton, pronunciation of foreign names isn’t his strong point.

Yeah I wasn't trying to make a loaded point about it. Just thought Tahith seems a pretty straightforward name, it's not like it's Dick Krzywicki 🤷‍♂️

I wonder what he calls Hoever? Hoevery?

Unlike Ogbene, Cannon, Ings and Campbell, Chong at least looks to get on the ball and do something, albeit not very well on the right wing because he’s left footed
