Today, Pete aka GeordieBladesman, left a Sheffield United scarf, Flowers and a card on behalf of me, Whitley Bay, Blyth, Wallsend and South Shields Blades at St James' Park

He included our sympathy and also from "all Sheffieled United fans" at the end of the card so hope no one objects to that?.

About half a dozen Sunderland shirts there and whose fans have now raised nearly £20k (initially it was £100 for flowers!) with the majority going to a charity.

RIP Liam & John

Sorry if I upset anyone by putting this in the wrong section :-(

Great to see all fans pull together when stuff like this happens, puts things into perspective.
These guys must have loved their club so much to try to make that journey,God bless them both, and sincere condolences to their grieving families.
Well done to the Sunderland fans as well..great respect to you all x

A great gesture! Well done for doing this.

Often football fans get a bad press, but Real football fans come together in such tragedy.

RIP

Nice one

Really nice touch, a big thanks to Pete for this!

RIP Liam and John, our thoughts are with their families.

As I said in the other thread, John at least was known to some Sheffield-based Geordies.

Every Saturday you go out on the road following your team, the last thing you expect is not to make it home that night.

To be off on the trip of a lifetime to watch your side play nothing games at the other side of the world and to be shot out of the sky... just awful.

its great when people can bring good from horrific situations

:-([/QUOTE]

I am pleased to be associated with this.

It would be nice if sport and politics did not mix but, if Russia is proven to be involved, how can we possibly take part in a World Cup there. it would be a total betrayal to these two NUFC fans plus, probably, dutch and malaysian fans on the plane.
