Basically against our first team YIKES
Pre season or not its still a heavy defeat!! eeekkkk
.... better bring in more player just to be safe!!!!
Slightly worrying that the Collins-Butler combination (which we would presumably start with if Harry goes) had three put past them. And that we didn't score.

I don't care if this is only a pre-season friendly, we've been hammered by a league two club while playing first team players. Not saying we'll not do ok this season but it doesn't look very good so far does it?

If I remember rightly the seaspn Wednesday beat us to getting up they lost 16-0 at Alfreton, pre season games are just glorified training sessions, a time to make the errors and sort out the balance, thats their purpose, we went unbeaten in the pre season last season , that showed how magnificently we were going to start under Weir

The object is to find the gaps and plug them , Clough will probably learn more than if wed won , never ever put any creedance to pre season games, had we won 6-0 it would have proved nothing

Not arsed at the scoreline today, if it continues over the course of our remaining friendlies then maybe i'll start to worry

That was Wednesday's youth team, which they arrogantly sent against a team of grown-ass men.

It was a pre season game and they sent a team , to find out the basics, personnel makes no difference , the manager may have to select any of them , thats his job, the premise remains the same , its a training session , no more no less, Burton were still smarting from losing in the play off final , they just got that out of their system , if their managers smart he,ll try and get that mood to carry on ,

Erm.. I think there's a good deal of difference between sending your first team and your under 18s. If we'd have sent our under 18s,today, would you still say 'personnel makes no difference?'

Burton was almost a free pass, however if we get turned over by Northampton in midweek as well then questions are going to be asked and not just by the usual suspects

To be fair, I haven't thought once we would get in the top 6, the signings we have made are all static with no flair, plus are all free transfers which worries me, where is the prince?
It doesn't matter if we have a hard working team, when the team has no ability in attacking, we need a big name striker NOW.

Some guys stood not far from us were going ape shit about it all, seemed way over the top for the first pre season game. Credit to Burton where it is due, they were very good. We were very poor, especially first half. Much brighter in the second. I would say today showed how much we really need another striker.

It does make me wonder why bother with such experimental sides. We played 2 formations that stand no chance of ever starting with lots of youngsters, against a team who were up for it and clearly already out of the starting blocks.

Other than demolishing the confidence of a few youngsters, confirming we can't hit a bulls ass with a banjo up front, and robbing me of an afternoon and £30, today achieved absolutely nothing.

Oh get a fucking grip some of you. It's a pre season friendly and we played a different side in each half with a sprinkling of youngsters. We're hardly going to produce fluid football are we?! He's having a look at things. Sometimes bizarre results occur at this time of year, means bugger all.

I've seen loads of sides get trounced against lower level opposition in the summer and go on to have good seasons.

Disappointing, although not surprising, to read of such a reaction from some sections of the support. For fucks sake, is it really worth going crackers because we've lost a friendly to Burton Albion? Some folk ought to get a fuckin life.

Reign it in lads & lasses for fucks sake , means nothing the result today , we where unbeaten and well beat county before it went tits up last season , I'm like Roy Keane I don't do friendlys , it's a game where our manager wants to look at something , player positions , tactics , we're it doesn't matter he's hardly liable to try these sort of things in league game ,
Because we all know he would rightly get some flak , I would rather we lost now and got it out of our system , then lose points next month in the league .
Don't worry come May 2015 we'll all have a smile on our faces as we go up and pigs come down .
In Clough I trust .
