I know I’m deluded – but I’ve been going for over 55 years, and I’ve seen that anything can happen.

Look at the League Table below.

We’re in 13th spot – our highest of the season – we still have to play 6 of those challenging for 6th place with us.
The only one we don’t play is Saints.
I believe if we get above Wrexham and Saints we finish 6th.

Wrexham’s Fixtures
are Hull, Swansea, Watford, Blades, West Brom, Southampton, Birmingham, Stoke, Oxford, Coventry, Boro!
If they don’t stumble somewhere along there, then they probably deserve to get 6th.

Saints’ Fixtures are West Brom, Coventry, Norwich, Oxford, Ipswich, Wrexham, Derby, Swansea, Bristol City, Blackburn, Preston.
We don’t get to play them, but there are still a few tasty challenges in there for them.

League Table:

Given a fair wind, I think the “Playoff Dream” path on Table 1 and Graph 1 can get us to 75, and I think that will be enough.
The Football Gods have kicked us in the balls enough times over the years, it’s time for them to deliver.

Incidentally, as of this morning, we were already 5th in this Table based on general performance! :-

Love your posts

But - we have no chance tbh

West Brom, Norwich and Brum next up and if we can get 6-9 points from those games and Wrexham drop points we have a slim chance as we play them (at home) and that's gonna be a cracker if we have closed the gap.

Could get interesting but little margin for error.

We do have very strong and experienced squad now as well and that could be a big advantage.

Losing Coops is a huge blow though.

No chance. At some stage one of our opponents will have a couple of shots on target and we'll be two-nil down.

Thankfully, we should now be safe from relegation but having a goalkeeper even as remotely atrocious as Davies in the net will only lead to losing many more than we win or draw.

It was complete negligence on Wilder's part not to buy another keeper in January to replace this idiot and he's probably going to get away with it in terms of staying out of the bottom 6.

Play-off's, not a prayer.

To be fair, we were 2-1 down once Coventry had two shots on target, too.

I've spent most of the season hoping we didn't get relegated.

Despite your charts and admirable optimism, I think pulling 4 results on Wrexham is too much.

Mid table finish I think, but in November we'd have all settled for that.

Keep up the cheerleading GraphMan.

However deluded you might think you are, Jairo and Sydie in front of Japh and Bindo make us a tough side to play through.

People worry about Davies, but his distribution is way better than Coops.

Coops injury cost us points v Cov.

The Championship is so great though - almost everybody is still looking up or looking down!

I love the optimism, but the purples being mainly teams above us and the greens being mainly teams below, it suggests we’re maybe where we should be.

I’m not ruling out a fine run till the end of the season though!

We still have a chance. We dont have no chance. Its there just very slim and slender like a Blade of grass flowing in the wind. See what I did there.

ucandomagic loving your glass half full posts keep doing them until its an impossibility it is still there. Wrexham in the Play off Final.

Varkanoid To meet Disney in the final, they would have to get 5th and us 6th.

I wondered if 5th & 6th had ever been in the final and, interestingly, in 2018/19, when we went up 2nd behind Norwich, Villa (5th) beat Derby (6th) 2-1.

It’s remarkable that we’re safe already. Credit to wilder for that.

As for the playoffs, in addition to needing over 2ppg we’re relying on some generational bed shitting from a top 6 team, all of whom look to have hit a bit of form.

Most optimistic take - we gain a 3 point swing on Wrexham one week soon, then beat them at home. Then we're only 3 behind

But there's also Southampton who are in form

The rest of them, we should all finish above. Which means we'll finish 8th

Realistically top 6 is not going to happen and that's probably why they've let Cooper end his season

We should use the rest of the season to experiment a bit, and play with freedom

Great thread. To be joint 3rd on xg points given the start we had shows that the wilder team is truly competitive in this league which I think most have sensed. The purple results with upper teams looks bad but some of these were early season matches and some we truly deserved more like Coventry last week. With Wrexham’s run it is possible to keep the hope ….and wait a little longer to be killed.😁⚔️

Three points away at Norwich looks a much tougher task than a few weeks ago

Wrexham have us, Southampton, Birmingham, Coventry Middlesbrough,Watford, Hull still to play yet ,plus west brom away ,Oxford both fighting for their life's. Plenty off football yet .

Also Swansea and Stoke , they have a tough run in i dont think they will make top 6 imo , not saying Blades will but I think we will be close depending if B Davies keeps his head .

I think Wilder has given up on it hence the decision to get Cooper ready for next season. Its right thing to do but it ends any genuine hope of the play offs because we're not going on the run we need with Davies in goal. Hopefully I'm proven wrong

We are guaranteed to finish 7th and it being a record points for 6th place. It’s how it works supporting us.
In 2014/15 Ipswich were 6th on 78 points and Wolves were 7th on 78 points! That is a record we don’t want.

Having said that, if we got to 78 points we would have had an amazing end to the season to take forward into next year!

Coops was injured in the Coventry game, and let in a very soft goal afterwards (0.03 XGOT)

There was no choice other than to bring Davies in - as Cooper on one leg is weaker than Davies on 2.

Also, I thought Davies' much better distribution than Coops was very evident yesterday, and helped us to maintain possession better.

Pretty much how I see it. He hasnt been helped by his two big JTW men for Boro and Cov. Points from those and I dont think Coops gets rested.

It’s not going to happen mainly because Davies is going to cost us.
