It felt a lot like after a boxing match when both fighters who’ve spat vitriol at each other suddenly talk about each other in glowing terms. I think if we all started speaking about them as ‘plucky little battlers’ it would drive them mad that what once was a bitter rivalry is now pity.

Oh it did. It was patronising beyond belief.
It was patronising beyond belief to the pigs, aye. All that patronising is looking pretty spot on at the moment 🤣

Absolutely none of it assume our promotion chase was done or inevitable as far as I can remember. If I've it wrong, please quote me the line/lines that did.

You can't expect these small clubs to compete.

He was bigging himself up aswell (and at the time justified, but subsequently blew up)... As Nedski says.... "3 ways to win games of football..."

We then lost to 3 atrocious sides.

They're friends by all accounts even to the point that CW and his Mrs went round for dinner on the Friday night before the 1st Derby earlier in the season.
I imagine it helps that there isn't even minimal public sentiment saying United woukd currently be better with the Wednesday manager in charge too though 😂

Right, but he was mainly bigging up Sheffield United in relation to Sheffield Wednesday. He trotted out all his lines about winning football, which I find tiresome, but to think that means he looks an idiot if he ever loses a few football game again is extremely uncharitable. He was talking big picture for the majority of it, covering years and years of history.

For me it was just the context of the situation together with an unprecedented 20 minute monologue. It smacked a little of oneupmanship to me. Particularly as i know his character.

Anyways, im currently enjoying wilder mk3, so dont ruin that for me 🤣

This could make for a good version of Steamed Hams actually.

Chris: You know, these hamburgers are remarkably similar to the ones they have at McDonald's.
Danny: [chuckles] Oh, no! Patented Rohl Burgers! Old family recipe.
Chris: For Steamed Hams?
Danny: Yes.
Chris: Yes, and you call them Steamed Hams, despite the fact that you're from Zwickau and not Hamburg?
Danny: Y- Uh.. you know, the... One thing I should... Excuse me for one second.

[Danny enters and leaves the kitchen swiftly upon seeing it is now on fire]

Chris: GOOD LORD, WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THERE???!!!
Danny: Aurora Borealis?

[They exit]

Chansiri (voice): DANNYYYYY!!! HILLSBOROUGH IS ON FIRE!!!
Danny: [looking up] Noo, Dejphon. It's just the Northern Lights.

In my humble but nonetheless correct opinion, CW's press conference was absolutely spot on.

Having said that, I wont be convinced Jairo really is fit until I see him on the pitch...

Or it coukd just be that CW quite likes Pedersen and has a degree of empathy for him in his professional situation whixh admittedly must be quite difficult every day, despite him knowing what was to come over there re admin and losing players. I dont think hes much of a manager tbh, but ill give him my respect for battling on and taking it on for them. Probably similar to how CW see it.

In relation to the 'other one' that CW referenced, its quite clearly Sausage Roll and i dont think you had to scratch too hard at the surface of CW when SR was Boss Hog to see that there was dislike there. Sausage liked to drop subtle little digs in about United whenever he had chance and some of them just came as across as a petulant young man. He soon jumped ship when the going got tough for him. Tbf, i also had a dislike for Sausage as he did come across as a self loving little prat. Whether you like or dislike a manager of a rival team will probably colour your views on how magnanimous you are to the opposition and their manager after you have beaten them again.

He hated Rohl because people, including United fans said how good he was. He loves Pederson because he's getting stick or pity at every turn
Kept calling him 'the other one' in the interview and referenced him jumping ship. He could barely conceal his contempt for him, which is fair enough as Rohl was constantly on the wind up
