Don disagree but I’d rather flog the big earners like Hamer, Campbell, O’Hare etc… and build the team around home grown youngsters.

Cashing in on them to buy poor quality replacements feels like the sort of trading that took us to league one last time round.
It's saying on football column now united might be interested in a swap deal with Everton! .

Having to sell young prospects is unfortunately part and parcel of the modern game unless you are the big 6.

It’s the recruitment, alongside bringing further prospects through, that we have to get right. Getting the recruitment right after selling was Brentford’s famed business Model and it worked, their recruitment was excellent..

…..ours is run by Jamie Hoyland

You’d hope we learned our lesson from the Jags/Beattie deal!

And Davies. And Tom Cannon. Etc…

Stop signing players because Hoyland knows them from Everton ffs.

Who has links to Everton... fantastic.

Swap deal with everton.

We'll likely take Seamus Coleman for his experience.... despite him being borderline retired.

Hes injury prone so he'll fit in nicely 👍

Everton can fuck off.

Potentially let’s have your excellent fullback that we’ll continually gloat about as if it was us that discovered him.

In exchange we’ll let you blood one of our youngsters and return him back to us a better player!

Only way this is a good deal is if we go and get Valery from Wednesday as I’m sure I read he was worth 4 time his potential sale value this window 🤣

I was speaking to a Southampton fan after our game at the Lane last autumn. We spoke about Tyler Dibling and I said that the amount Everton paid for him was good for Southampton. He said that Southampton don't sell 'on the cheap'. They've worked hard at their academy to produce some very good players and Premier league clubs have got to pay the premium.

There are about 6 clubs who have been in the Premier league since the start. Everton are one of them. Millions have poured into that club over the past 20+ years.

It's an embarrassment for fans on here to start talking about accepting £10million for Seriki from an established Premier league club.

The Prince was given the term 'the Poundland Prince'. I think we've got a whole load of 'Poundland Fans'.

I personally would prefer us to retain Seriki.

10m for Peck is an embarrassment, for Seriki (and bare in mind I desperately want him to stay) who has less than 2 years left on his contract, who hasn't always had the best fitness, and at 23 has never played properly above this level, 10million is reasonable and I think Everton would actually hope to spend less.

Realistically we are going to have to sell to cover the loss of parachute payments next season and to pay for the total fuck up of recruitment in summer 2025. £10mill for Femi would be a steal at this point. £15 - £20mill we should hang out for. Brooks is not far behind that in my view. There's plenty of money floating about in the EPL.
Can we just sell a share for £20m a go like Wrexham or the like have done instead?

Seriki has pace, power, physique, strength, stamina, skill, youth, athleticism and a lack of fear. He is improving rapidly and has everything to be able to succeed, at top level. £10m is far from reasonable for his attributes.

And if he wasn't free to leave the club in 18 months, I'd agree.

I, like most would love to see us hold on to the players who we've developed.

Although I do accept that we have to balance the shortfall in parachute revenue next season .

We can all begrudge the wasted Bord experiment and poor signings and loans but in reality we are where we are.

If we see Femi , Peck or others moved on I'll not be throwing my toys out if the pram in some chicken licken manner, yes it'll be sad but thats life .

Tyler Dibling had a year left on his contract and Southampton got £35million + £5million add-ons.

Seriki is one player that could help us get to the Premier league - then watch the millions come into the club. £10million is laughable.

It's time we showed a bit of back bone.

I think the difference is that Tyler Dibling was 3 years younger and had represented England in every age group except full cap and had alot of suiters.
Femi is 23 , not played at any international level and has 1 PL appearance.

Dont get me wrong , I think he's a great talent but just reasoning why hes not a £35m player.

Agree but problem is Campbell is probably worthless or 2mill at most. Hamer's star has fallen so his value certaily less than 10
mill. COH not an EPL player as doesn't have the strength physique for EPL. So yes I would prefer to sell them and keeper Femi but that doesn't raise anything like same amount.
certainly at moment

What happened to Des Taylor

And in eighteen months if he hasn't signed a new contract?

It's a good job that you don't have to balance the books as you sound to have more than a bit of Chansiri in your approach.

Our long term future is much more dependant on trading player than winning games in the short term.

The whole point of the academy is to produce saleable assets to enable us to grow organically and to do that we have to sell players.

Say no to £10m now, how much is he worth in the summer with only 12 months left?

How much in Jan next year with only 6 months left?

At the end of the day the player and his agent will dictate what we can get for him,.
