Imagine being a journalist and seriously saying the Championship player of the year could be available for £6m
Come on, we all know that ability is only one part of a players worth. Othe

Age
Resale value
Wages
Potential to improve
Contract left
Desire to stay
League position of selling and buying clubs
Financial situation of selling and buying clubs

So whilst 6m is perhaps a touch low, I’m not sure it’s preposterous or wildly out of whack.

I did not say Hamer was fat. He's carrying a bit of weight and has been for the last year or so. For a professional Athelete supposedly at the peak of his career it's no wonder he's struggling this season.
For the record, your assumption of others couldn't be any further from the truth.
Beacuse hes a professional athletes doesnt mean he shouldnhave a 6 pac, not many people do, he has the same body type as sharp, who again isnt fat. When you see these people up close in person you actually realise yeah they're not actually fat, or carrying a ring or extra weight. If he was or any of the squad im sure they'd be getting fined.

His body fat % will be 10 or under and again not many people will be anywhere close to that.

You may not be as said picture and I may have over exaggerates it, but it was more of a generalisation, rather than singling you out and saying that. I wouldnt be able to as I've never seen you lol.

Our performances picked up when he was injured.

His all round performances since have been a bit disappointing but he still possesses that bit of magic that most others in the squad don't (see Sunday).

I'm always willing to cut players some slack who have personal stuff going off. The reaction of many to Godfrey because of his earnings stinks imho.

If Gus wants to go then I'd like a bit more but £6 mill as a fee and presumably significant wages could be used very well. Emphasis on could.

im sure we will sell but we certainly dont need to give him away i would put a 12m price tag on him even if we know we wont get it if we can get 8m minimum and 30k a week off the wage bill i think it will be a decent deal for the club

My complaints about his physical build isn't he's fat. It's that he's not got a big engine like a coh, strong, fast or tall. When he plays regularly there's always a spell where he goes down "feeling something" and that's his general lack of fitness coming into play

I think your correct - especially as clubs will see he hasn't been in the team, its certainly worth testing us at that price. I can see us letting him go for 8m so long as Wilder has the opportunity to go out and get a LW. He might like that for balance anyway with O'Hare doing a good job as the roving creative off the left. Wilder isn't afraid to sell a big player to fund investment in the squad which he think will make the team better.

With that said. I would keep him and let him run down the contract for that price. 18months of Hamer seems worth the money to me (easy to say when its not my money!). Especially, as at the end of that period we are likely to be competing for promotion (if we don't pull off a miracle this season), and if we go up surely he would extend, and even if we don't he'll be 30 and we may be his best option.

I'd say we'd be lucky to get anything above £8m based on current performance and his age. I think if we can get around £8m I'd sell and buy it loan and out an out left wing replacement. Like Tom Watson from Brighton. Haner isn't a winger but does a job out there but he doesn't look the same player as last season.

How much do you think he us worth based on this season's performances, fitness levels and that,at the moment, he is probably not in our first choice 11 if everyone is fit
We play him out of position. He's a box to box midfielder that gets thrown on to the left wing. Is he worth less than Nathan Broadbent, Kyogo Furuhashi, Finn Azaz... £14m less than Mads Hermansson?? We need we to sell our players at 2026 prices, because whoever we buy his replacement from sure will.

Are any of the clubs mentioned closer to his family whom we understand , and accept as a reason to leave without a quibble ( I do anyway ), though??

I've thought a parting of the ways inevitable all season, but if he isn't going " home " business becomes business.

What’s the point in having a box to box midfielder that can’t run box to box for 90 minutes and has no positional discipline?

Crowbarring him on the left last season looks to have spoiled him. We took an aggressive, creative midfielder and turned him into a luxury show pony.

And he totally got away with any criticism for that throw in against Mansfield the shithouse.

This is going to be Kieffer Moore seller regret times 100 on here if it happens. Especially if a championship team gets him. Half of you don't know what we have.

Said it a bit back. He hasn't been in form like last season of course. But fans seem to have written the narrative we will be better off without him. We've done it before too.

Is it not possible he could find his form again too and then we have best midfielder in the division again?

Obv. The fact he has 18 months left means the fee will be starting to get lower. Let's not be silly and let him go too low if we do.
£10m this window and £7m if it the summer.

Guess we will just have to see how it plays out.

We will be a mid range budget club next season likely to lose Ohare and other assets so doubtful that we will be competing with the likes of West Ham Wolves Burnley Southampton Birmingham and ( gulp) Wrexham

No the didn’t

I have never seen a poster post as much drivel as you

Hamer is our best player by a mile

He is both currently a box to box midfield player. He is not fit enough to do that. He can give us moments of magic but is he consistent enough.

We are a Championship club so we will.uave to sell players( as we are most likely not getting promoted).I agree £6mill is maybe not enough at the moment but I can't see anyone bidding over £10 mill for him. His value will now reduce if doesn't sign another contract so commom sense would suggest that, if he won't extend his contract, we should maximise transfer income and reduce a significant proportion of wages.

£6 million 😂

Tell them to fork off and say sign this contract for £35,000 gus”

Some absolute whoppers in our fan base who now don’t rate Hamer because he was out for 2 months

Best player we have by a mile hopefully Wilder isn’t as deluded
Already getting paid a quite heavier whack than that from us at the minute, is always relaxed and not pushy as we’ve treated him well. Nice lad ol Gus hope he gets his boyhood move in the summer thats if he even wants to leave then 🤷‍♂️

Yep, that's what I'm getting at - after this window, we might have a chance (CB crucial)

And if so it would be best to have Fat Gus as an option, he could easily be the difference at crunch time
If Hamer is happy coming in off the bench, I think that's the best option.

O'Hare has offered much more this season.

Hamer was the CH play of the season last year with 10 goals and 8 assists in 44 games.
O'Hare so far, after 25 games has 7 goals and 5 assists.
On track to produce better than Hamer last year.

If we could get get £15m for Hamer, I'd take it as I feel Wilder would find some gems for that.

Anything less than £10m and it's not worth talking

Madness if we sell him! Yes he's not having a brilliant season, yes he suffers from injurys, but we've got nobody in the team whats scores goals as good as he does.

Back to our dismal performance on Sunday, who else but Gus could have scored our first goal??????? Bamford???? Cannon??????
Its no surprise other clubs are watching on with interest.
