Bloke is absolutely horrific. 6ft plenty, doesn't dominate, weak as they come and has the agility and movement of a lamppost. Bindon is certainly not the answer, arguably worse.
Tanganga and Mee should be the centre half pairing until January, best we have, although I would be replacing Mee come January.

The worst CB (aside from Nosworthy) I’ve seen for United in 35 years. How on earth did we pay £4million for him. Makes Neil Collins look like Maldini.
Get him out of here this month.
Can’t.

He’s played for 2 teams this season.

Unless we kept the receipts and Luton take him back!

Who takes him? If he went be on loan probably.

Today though Mee had his worst game for us by a mile. Mind you a few did. Chong and Ings were very poor and Arblaster and Soumare did their best to build no momentum. And be sloppy with passes.

It was a shocking signing.

He was one of the few opposition players that always stood out to me as being poor. When I saw his name on the teamsheet I'd be pleased he was playing.

I couldn't believe my eyes when Luton paid big money for him... then we went and did them a massive favour.

He's another that's with us for 4 years isn't he? What a shitshow the Summer was.

Not defending McGuiness as he is awful but Mee was way worse today, skinned incessantly by their forwards and possibly the slowest CB i can remember playing for us.

Praying that Cardiff come back up this season in the hope that they'll want this fucking cart horse back there in the summer.

Ben Mee was far worse today and that takes some doing. Bring those two back in the team and we cocede a hat full again. Burrows, Campbell, Ings, Chong all deserve a 💩 tag too, not impressed by the new full back either. Davis not at fault for any of the goals. If this result don't tell the owners we need players in fast nothing will, phuck me it's bad when you are wishing Tom Cannon was on. 😡

Agree re: Mee, but he has a bit of a free pass as it was his first game back in so long and he is 35.

I haven't rated him as much as others though and hope we go into the market. A strong CB could turn our season around, because we're still soft as shit back there and an open shop.

If we don't improve Tanganga's CB partner we won't be troubling the top 6

Mee was appalling today, but he has just come back from an extended spell out and I think he was generally regarded as a solid performer before his operation. McG is just not very good, and putting those two together today was a recipe for disaster.

Chong is shocking, based on what I have seen so far. Indecisive, reluctant or unable to beat his man, misplaced passes everywhere and just downright clumsy on the ball.

Campbell looks slower and more disinterested every time he plays. At lease Ings runs around a bit and seemingly tries.

I am glad we pulled a few goals back, as it stopped today being a major embarrassment, but our recent cup "performances" are simply unacceptable for a (usually) top end Champ team.

Mark McGuiness hasn't made many ridiculous errors, like the ones Robinson, Nyworthy, McEvely etc. became synonymous with, but I think he stands out as one of the most obviously lower league centre halves I've seen at the Lane. He just isn't Championship standard and doesn't have any attributes that are of that standard.

It's frightening we've got him for 3 n half more years...I'd be definitely listing him in summer..might get half a million if we,re lucky.

Robinson was a better CB - yes, he had a mistake in him, but more competent.

McGuniess would be ok next to a Tanganga. Or a Bindon, someone with recovery pace - given he's slow as anything.

Mee is a Prem experienced defender and on his day VERY good, even at 35. However he needs pace next to him.

They can't play together because it's then inviting anybody with pace the opportunity...

They were both awful

Falls to pieces whenever the ball goes beyond him, it’s scary to watch a centre back be so incompetent chasing a ball back towards his own goal.
It’s worse than that. There have been a number of opportunities for him to step forward and nick the ball but instead he’s so scared of being beaten for pace that he just stops. Mansfield’s third today is a case in point (or casing point 🙂)

No idea why both played together.

Bindon needed to play with either one or the other.

I'm barely disagreeing, but Mee was out with a fucking hand injury. He was still fit and training normally, if not match fit, which makes that performance even more bizarre. It was so bad I wonder what our pecking order is now: Tanganga, Bindon, McGuinness, Mee?

I think Wilder said he could train but not where it involved any contact, so presumably he wasn't playing properly in training, just focusing on fitness. You are right that it shouldn't make that much difference, but I am less worried about him because players still have to settle back in after a break, but more crucially because we have seen what he can do. McG on the other hand is just not up to it.

In terms of the pecking order, I reckon we will stick with Tanganga and Bindon now, with Mee as first back up.

Yes, but it might have been his wanking hand

Mee was not his usual standard … but he was greatly hindered by constantly covering for Mcguiness who was constantly pulled out of position and locks the pace to recover
