I can’t believe how negative about Sericki people are on here. Also Brooks. These two have been great this season. Sericki has also played full 90 minutes several times. I have never seen or heard of Hoever but people seem to assume he is going to be better than Femi. I really hope that he is used to cover for him for injury, loss of form and rotation but not replace him as first choice. So important our academy graduates don’t see their path being blocked.

Its only injury or suspension what keeps Seriki out of the team, Hoever will probably be rotated with him.

Agree, one of out standout young players while everyone is worried about Blaster and Peck I can see us losing Femi and Brooks this window, can’t have gone unnoticed.

The one thing that has enjoyable this season is watching the development of our young talent.

I'm not sure why (but there are plenty of rumours), but Wilder doesn't seem to be a great fan of Seriki or Brooks.
I hope no one takes offence at this and to be really clear I am not saying this is what is happening but I wonder if Wilder finds it frustrating managing people with strong religious feelings?

I find it interesting when we win and the social media posts or interviews are comments like "All Glory to God" or "Thank you God". I have no problem with religion or peoples beliefs but at face value I always think its taking away from the players and teams own hard work and success.

I am not saying it should stop, I just wonder what its like managing people like that.

That was my thoughts

I don't get the negativity of signing a right back when we have needed one for at least two seasons. We can't just rely on Seriki not getting injured. Ideally we want two good players for each position. It is not a case anymore of dropping players, it is managing players work loads and fitness. It is also about energy levels. Rugby have realised this and have starters and finishers. It is alot easier to physically give 100% if you know you are only playing 60 minutes or 30 minutes. The full backs in this system have to get through a lot of work.

This came up in shoutbox last neyt.

I can't say I totally agree with it. Peck is quite an outspoken Christian and has come into his own under Wilder mk. III.

He's made statements about his faith in the past IIRC.
Absolutely doesn't seem the type - constantly trying to get into scuffles on the pitch. Also seen him outside ground before with a couple of "scruffy" mates.

If he's religious get him dropped Chrissy.

(That's a joke by the way. So are Brooks and Seriki strongly religious dexter101 ...?)

That's really interesting and thanks for sharing.

I think Wilder seems to get frustrated with Brooks and Seriki, more than not liking them (they clearly are talented young players and he isn't an idiot) so would love to know what it is.

My knowledge of them is from their Instagram posts and the odd interview after the game so clearly very small pool of information.

I think you see it more in football now a days being more openly religious. Then again, I had a large part of my 20s where I didn't follow football closely so maybe its not new.

Until recently, Sydie was living in the flat across the landing from Trig Jnr (TY). He was good as gold, in fact, the week Trig Jnr (TY) moved in, Sydie asked how long his packing boxes would be on the landing as they were making the place look untidy 🙂

His "scruffy" mates were however, less considerate. When they got back from a night out before Sydie, with no keys, they were quite happy to buzz Trig's flat at 4am to be let in, cheeky sods.

We successfully rotate Burrows and McCallum on the left so can see the same with Hoever and Seriki. Win win for me.
Not sure you could call ‘having to take Burrows out of the team because he’s shite’ the same as ‘successful rotation of players’.

Worth noting that Brooks and Seriki only came into the team when Wilder had no other option when Ogbene, Chong & Mee picked up injuries causing him to move Tanganga back to the middle and change his RW.

He’ll drop them both as soon as someone else comes in cause they aren’t ‘one of the ladz’ like Peck & Arblaster.
