Played for Sweden at all levels including I full cap so he must have something! Only just 21.

His full cap was a 2 minute sub appearance. He played a handful of games for Malmö in Allsvenskan, the top league in Sweden and probably about the same standard as EFL 1.
He is only 20 and not ready yet for the Championship but may well prove to be our best AI signing. I'm surprised he's not featured more for our U21s so do wonder if he's had some fitness problems.

Both Zatterstrom and POLENDAKOV are good defenders and will have a great future. Whether at Utd or elsewhere who knows but definitely ones for the future.

Some EFL rule specialists might be able to clarify but could it be possible to send him out on a short term loan for say 28 days to someone in the National Leagues for example York and then after that evaluate his ability to see where he would fit in the EFL in January

If we plan to send him on loan to someone, that would explain why he hasn't received a single minute for us.

From Fifa's regs:

3. Players may be registered with a maximum of three clubs during one season. During this period, the player is only eligible to play official matches for two clubs. As an exception to this rule, a player moving between two clubs belonging to associations with overlapping seasons (i.e. start of the season in summer/autumn as opposed to winter/spring) may be eligible to play in official matches for a third club during the relevant season, provided he has fully complied with his contractual obligations towards his previous clubs. Equally, the provisions relating to the registration periods (article 6) as well as to the minimum length of a contract (article 18 paragraph 2) must be respected.

Zätterström could probably play for us and then move somewhere else in January but I suspect a combination of a) United not being entirely clear on this, b) us being out of the League Cup before he joined and c) him being fifth choice centre half means that he's not been selected as yet.

He's appeared for Malmo in this season's Champions League Qualifiers (July), so not sure we could argue the Swedish league overlap ??
