Never known us be so successful at corners
It’s weird - it doesn’t even look like an amazing corner: put the ball in high between the penalty spot and the six yard box, and have a tall defender taking a big run onto it from the D, make a big leap and head it hard and wide of the keeper. It seems like the most basic corner possible, yet we keep scoring from it.

Yep. Tananga completely lost his man. Free header.

No fancy bits

Three times, same side, same end of the ground, on to a different Centre Half's head. Opened the scoring in all three games too as I recall.

There's been a little bit of clever blocking but even then it looks way too simple for us to be getting away with it. The last couple we've stood both centre backs together, the front one runs forward to make space behind.

Tonight...Tanganga fakes a run to the back stick (causes the defender to lightly bump into Brooks but not much else) and then attacks the centre of the box from deep. Somehow that's enough to completely baffle a defence.

Surely the easy thing to do is to have a free man in defence to just be watching that space and just make sure our centre back doesn't get a clear run at it. But I'm no coach so maybe it's somehow a much better routine than I can work out?

Not that I'm complaining if teams can't figure it out.

Oli McBurnie used to do this role extremely well when defending corners. Probably his most effective role.
