Outgoing? Peck

I like Sydie, but he’s not ready to be the pivot in a midfield three. He missed a more combative partner in there today, i.e. Souza.

So when we had clearly lost why wasnt the new defensive midfielder blooded?

Why’re you asking me?

In my opinion, there was a lot of responsibility placed on Sydie’s shoulders today and I felt he missed the presence of a ball winning midfielder alongside him.

I’d personally like to see Soumaré alongside Peck, as we were far too lightweight in midfield today. Again, in my opinion.

Sorry I was not asking you just asking a open question about Soumaré

Yeah, Peck as a single pivot doesn't work. If Bristol City can cut through our midfield like that just imagine what a better side would do to us.

I can see him going as a calculated panic buy for a prem team

If it's true that he's been agitating for a move all Summer, I'd sell him if we get a decent offer (£12m+).

We want players that want to be here. Having too many that don't stinks the place out.

Furthermore, he's a good player and has some potential, but I don't think his ceiling is that high. I've not been impressed with him this season without Souza next to him.

dont think theres any chance of us getting 12m for peck especially the way hes played this season hes another who hasnt looked totally committed this season he can go for me

He's decent but he's nowhere near the level he apparently thinks he is.

They can have him for 1 trillion pounds and a box of jaffa cakes. The jaffa cakes are non negotiable.

I don't care what money we get for him, I care who we replace him with.
I'd rather 1 Jaïro Riedewald (£0) than 3 Cannons (24m).

Although he isn’t playing which isn’t ideal for us, the injury wouldn’t do the transfer any favours which in the long run will be good. But again take all rumours with a pinch of salt until they have happened

The whole point of bringing Accademy players on is to support and break into the first team. Then, if they are good enough to sell high before they are fully proven. We did it recently with Will a Osula and that funds developing the squad.

Sometimes it works in out favour sometimes against. Look at Harry McGuire. Sold him cheep and he was soon passed on for £80m. We would never have got that much for him but we get kick backs with sell on clauses.

Liverpool did it to us, Brewster was a hot prospect. We gambled but he flopped. Had he gone on to be prolific Liverpool would have had him back for £40m.

Is the nature of the game with everyone trying to emulate Brentford and Brighton.

If right bid comes in we will sell. He may go on to be £100m player he might fade into L1 within a few seasons. Whichever, we need the funds to squad build.

Am I still the only one who would happily sell him if we meant we could keep Hamer?! As whilst peck has performed well recently, one has the ability to turn a game in a heartbeat, the other has played well in a couple of games….

There's a reasonable chance we'll sell both. Hamer's stock isn't going to get any higher and he's been disappointing this season so far. I'd rather keep Peck. He's more important to us even if Hamer is clearly the more talented

You're right and this is absolutely the model we should be following. The Prince or his team made a statement when Slav came in and I think COH have tried to do similar either with academy products or young players which we can increase the value of. It doesn't always work as you said.

Peck was one of those players like Brooks and others before that were released by a Top 6 academy, to be picked up by us.

The key to this model is that you have the next potential star waiting in the wings to step up.

Whilst they are different players, we had Blaster in the first team and Peck chomping at the bit to play last season, putting in some stand out performances in the early cup games. He was knocking on the door.

Blasters injury accelerated Peck to starting faster than anyone would’ve liked or wanted but he had become a regular starter last season and an excellent player week in week out. He stepped up and proved himself. We have to remember that he's stepped up from the academy to the development to being a first team starter, he's still developing, but the talent is obvious.

If we can be smart, extend and give him a better contract, hold off until the summer, we can increase his sale value. If we're smart.

By that time Blaster will be waiting in the wings.

Peck is one of the last players i'd want to leave, I rate him very highly, but the business requires us to bring in big money when we can
