He got totalled by Cooper.

Ref seemed to have forgot about the rules around what is or isn't a penalty today.

Not sure I agree. Cooper made a blocking run and Bamford went into him.
He doesn't have to move out of Bamford's way. Didn't think there was much in it.

The only pen I thought we should have had was the Tanganga one.
They often don't get given because the ref decides they both have hold of each other, but that clearly wasn't the case. Tanganga is staring at the ref the whole time in disbelief.

The "handball" looked mostly chest to me. Certainly wasn't a stonewaller.

Played well and tbh I don’t think you can really call him out for not scoring that chance. I felt Seriki made the wrong pass in all honesty. Bamford was in a far too awkard position and close to the keeper to have a decent chance at scoring.

He looked excellent today and is certainly different to what we already have . Hopefully he can stay fully fit !
As ever UTB !
exactly that and as another poster has said bit like mcgoldrick intellegent and just a different type of striker to what we have could be an astute signing

I'd agree with that. I'd be fuming if the Bamford type one was given against us, just 2 players coming together. The Tanganga one however...

Calm down.

McGoldrick was a superbly gifted footballer, playing his best stuff just outside the box, to link in other players, or play killer assist passes.

Bamford is a DirtyLeeds reject, with a half decent 30 minutes behind him.

You are determined, aren't you? Just for a while, put your preconceived ideas aside and give the guy a chance. He is a united player, after all.

Curran-pig was a 'United player', but I'm pleased to say that I was among several thousand Blades who booed, spat at and coined the piggy twat in 1982.

Bamford is nowhere near that level, but a half decent 30 minutes, does not make him a god in my eyes.

He get's a chance, but he has to prove himself.

When it comes to footballing brains, Bamford is an Einstein compared to Cannon who resembles a Mark the Pissmoor Pig.

No one is saying he doesn't have to prove himself. Of course he does. No one said he's a god either.

Why are you basing your opinion of Bamford solely on today? He's got an entire career behind him. We know what he's capable of. He's a good player.

His career stats,

111 goals in 357 senior slub appearances. isn't that impressive for a striker.

BTW, he gets marked down IMHO for being DirtyLeeds scum. If you don't get that, you weren't there in the 80s and 90s.

Is this the same Cannon that bent one in from 25 yards and paired with Bamford like they had been playing together all season?
No. It’s the Cannon that has been woeful all season and last. The Cannon who had a chance of a gimme and screwed up. The Cannon who had a speculative shot that was pretty weak , deflected past a shit Wednesday keeper.

Looked very assured today. To be honest I’d written him off but if he continues in this vein I’ll be happy to take that back.

Stop being so obsessed with Leeds, I think most our fanbase don’t care about them until the day we play them. Also it’s his career ffs, what was he supposed to do, not sign for a big club? And Bamford’s record is quite good, 1/3 would be 15 goals a season which is good. He also offers much more.

I rest my case

Yes I was there in the 80s and 90s. I don't give a shit if he played for Leeds really.

Curran was a different deal altogether. A pig fan. So I'm with you there but not necessarily the spitting bit.

Thanks for telling me what to think, and you are right.

It was the Patrick Bamford derby and he won it.

BTW, there was a match went on today.

It was a 'derby', although mysteriously Derby County weren't in it.

It was against our big rivals and we won.

Our next biggest rivals are DirtyLeeeds, but I won't mention that, as apparently it looks like an 'obsession'.

Carry on as you were, sending out those badges and stickers, from the Official Patrick Bamford Fan Club

Sorry, but I don't belive that you were 'there'.

We only played the S6 deluded once in the 80s (Easter Saturday 1980).

We played DirtyLeeds a lot morethroughthe 80s and into the 90s. They carried on with their usual cheating, seat smashing and even managed to set the disabled stand alight at Barnsley.

If you really were there, then you know your history.

Bamford has to prove himself as a player, but please don't try to pretend that a Leeds background, is of no consequence to anybody over 40.

There was a match that went on, and Bamford played well.

The extent as to which you are deranged about Leeds is ridiculous, as I said normal Blades don’t think about them, especially as we barely play them. And to unnecessarily dislike somebody that used to play for them is really weird, most United fans aren’t like that with anyone, except from a few ex-Wednesday players that deserve it.
