CONFIRMED Patrick Bamford

I’ll keep my powder dry but although not headline making, a not direct comparison that he’s not the first Leeds related player to sign for us just before a derby at the Sty. The last one was highly unpopular after his shithousing against us at Elland Road. He is now looked upon kindly. More of the same please Patrick although first you have to be ahead of Cannon in the paid fee ord, err pecking order.

I’m not sure what people were expecting in November.

We’ve looked shite up front, Campbell looks a shell of the player he did last season and Wilder has already said ‘January can’t come soon enough’ so he and we know we need more signings.

He’s literally signed one of the only possible players we are allowed to sign and he’s got pedigree (a while ago I know) in a position we’re struggling in.

What else should we do? Aside from getting One back in the team we have no other options till Jan (aside from other free agents - I’d hazard a guess that there’s not many, if any, better than Bamford in that pool)

DESPERATE times call for Desperate measures!!. More than MEH when it comes to Bamford, don't hate him, more loathe him for his connection with jimmy saville united than owt!, but he's available outsides of an open transfer window, so, on a short term deal and in the 'absolute abysmal pit' of a situation/season in which we find ourselves this is a bottom of the barrel-clutch at straws we simply cannot overlook!. Gotta bite this bullet and hope for the best 🤞

If anyone wants to educate me about what we stand to gain by not making this short-term signing, I am more than willing to listen/learn

I get the signing, but just as he will be getting up to fitness, the JTW will hit and potentially he's gone to someone else. Why get a player fit for him to then go elsewhere in the window?

I work in Leeds so it come with the territory I’m afraid. I’m leaving at Christmas to start a new job in…

…Nottingham.
Be prepared for the car journey in 'duck', if that's how you are travelling.

Absolute bellends prepared to cut you up for just a single space going in and out. Loads of 'two lanes merging into one' on every road with no thought of cars merging in turn. Fists shaking, windows down with threats thrown and 'wanker signs' randomly given.

An absolute cesspool of 'chip-on-the-shoulder', nasty tossers. Despise the place.

Where are you based?

UTB

We are absolutely desperate for a match fit striker.

This really is 2010-11 redux.i seem to recall us signing the corpse of Marcus Bent then as we romped to a needless relegation.
What am awful fucking season that was. Piss weak from top to bottom.

Tbh I'm pleased we've signed him - it means Wilder acknowledges Cannon is not good enough (yet at least), Campbell can't last a whole game and neither can Ings.

Bamford is also 6'1" so can potentially play a target man role

End of the day, we are shallow up top. Transfer window is closed until Jan. This is win - win. Bamford will be playing to earn a longer deal, I bet we got him for low wages and he strengthens our piss weak strike department. At worst he gives us an option and we know he does have it in him to bang goals in

You've hit the nail on the head, an emergency signing. If anything happens to Campbell we are in deep trouble with no proper cover as Oné is too raw and Ings and Cannon don't play that role.
Just as a side issue, what role does Cannon play? 🤔

I reckon I might become PB's biggest fan.

Anything to break the monotony of our football at the moment.

"Danny Ings and Patrick Bamford,
bibbity, bobbity, sore,
Put em' together and what have you got,
Arthritis and goals galore!"

Come on Patrick!

Danny Ings and Patrick Bamford,
bibbity, bobbity, sore,
Put em' together and what have you got,
Bottom of division two.

Another gamble by Chris Wilder, if it works and Bamford scores against wendy at the Stadium of rust he will be a hero, provided he is fit to play, that is.
Or will He flop, we will find out a week on Sunday want we.

We have been creating chances that I think Bamford would finish so maybe a smart move and only for 2 months so nothing to lose

Just been released by Leeds. Maybe he might be able to get back to his best with a fresh start - had a decent season in the PL under Bielsa but seemed to fall dramatically out of favour with the manager and fans.

Worth a punt?
Sheffield United,masters of underwhelm.

More conjecture for the if's but's and maybe's.

I suppose it is coming up to Turkey buying season🙄
