Just watched the race. The 2:45 at Fontwell. Bizarrely, both Cannon & Godfrey unseated at the last fence. Make of that what you will.

I think he's been frozen out of the squad by Wilder, I think he's going back to Atalanta in January, there's likely a clause of minimum games he can play before any return option becomes invalid

Think that if this were the case, Wilder would tell it as it is (or nearly so). We have had a few snippets of personal issues. Could somebody close to him have died or be very sick?

Not necessarily, I think you have to be canny with these sort of things, as Atalanta are banking on us paying his wages for the season.

Could be completely wrong of course but CW is very sympathetic if it genuinely is a personal or family issue and why would he not say so.

Jebbo was injured and told the club he didnt want people knowing about the injury due to GDPR which the club adhered to.

This one has some issues people on here have said they "know " but aren't saying, hence other people are speculating.

Never nice to see it hear about someone going through, let alone one of our players. I hope whatever is going on sorts itself out for him.

That said, he's not been good enough. No idea if this has been going on for a while and has impacted his form, but - either way - he's been a poor signing. Hopefully we can terminate the loan spell early.

I think the club are crediting the fans with some intelligence... they've told us it's personal, they're shutting down all questions on it, read between the lines .. he hasn't won the lottery.
It's obviously something that's impacting his ability to play.

We don't need to be spoon fed anything, it's the lads personal life.
We have zero right to know. He's not going to be playing football, that's what we've been told and it's all we need to know.

Quite a few fans have heard what's going on with Godfrey and I've been pleasantly surprised that the vast majority have kept it silent on here. It's the right thing to do.

I'd like to see him play under Wilder before we write him off.

Ha ha. It was right in front of us and McGuiness was getting redder and redder as the half went on. As soon as the half time whistle went he ran over to Godfrey to give him some more 'advice' and Godfrey sprinted off towards the tunnel. Fastest he'd moved all half....
