Ben Mee

I'm happy enough with 3 at the back, but CW needs to look at the 2 in front, I love sydie but he's dropped off from last season ( a lot of it could be because of the relationship with vini) from what bits I've seen he needs to trust Soumare and Matos to build a understanding ( we know ollie is a few weeks away and we're not getting updates with TD ) we can't do anything about centre forward ( again what is happening with ings ) until January unless there's one of the youngsters ready to step up.
Personally I'd be playing mini games in training to try and work out the best combinations. I know it's pie in the sky thinking but our first 11 when all fit is as good as any in this division.
Cooper
Tanganga, Mee, Mcguiness
Ogbene, Davies, Ollie, Burrows
Ohare, Hamer
Ings

Campbell seems angry, blatant barges and giving fouls away

Cannon, he actually manages to ‘out shit’ himself every appearance, whoever signed that one off needs sacking

However, we’ve won so let’s enjoy the feeling, oHare took goal really well and back 3 of McG, Mee & Jaf look fuckin solid
As soon as Cannon's name has been read out, there's a quiet mixture of the odd clap, groans and resigned silence. I do actually feel for him, he's simply not good enough but he didn't set his feet or wages. The blame lies solely with whoever a) scouted him b) signed off on the transfer. It's truly baffling how he's made it this far, and that he managed to once scored 4 in a game.

Thought he was crap 1st half at one stage every pass he made went to an Oxford shirt. A much better 2nd half where the experience made a big difference in keeping things calm when Oxford were pumping the ball into the box for an equaliser. Defence much better when the midfield decided to play 2nd half. Up front is stil a worry but as Asaba said we were much better at turning the Oxford defence towards their goal after half time.
Agree his passing wasn't great. He actually seemed quite composed, looked up, aimed for a teammate, but the execution was often poor. His defensive play was good all game though.

He's shown nothing to be picked ahead of One and Marsh. I hope he'll improve and start scoring goals, but at the moment it looks like his price tag is the reason why he gets playing time and that is embarrassing.

Not sure how Cannon gets on ahead of Oné who at least runs at defenders when he gets the ball.

He didn’t set his fee or wages, that’s not on him.

But whoever did deserves the splintered broom handle treatment

Tom Cannon has no redeeming features…

It’s not his fault he cost millions or that his wages are what they are.

But on the basis of ability he just isn’t very good… again today he made a half jump/turn/whatever it was to try and win a header… he ambled about the pitch doing nothing of note to help defend .. needs dropping to the U23s as far as I’m concerned … seen enough now to make a call …

Of course mate I took hope he proves us all wrong, but I've not seen a single thing from him to suggest he's worth £100k let alone £10m. He literally offers nothing up top; he's slow, weak, can't head the ball - I could go on. I don't dislike the guy and I feel kind of bad for him. Nonetheless, terrible signing.

I know it’ll never be sung & it’s shit but I couldn’t resist a version of the ‘Greatest Showman’ song.
Apologies upfront.

🎶 Look out 'cause he’s a Blade
On a trial but we’re glad he stayed
We got him, on a free
It was always meant to be
It’s Ben Mee!
Oooh oooh oooooh ooooooooooh
Oooh oooh oooooh ooooooooooh
We got him, on a free

We’ve had this conversation before. You ignored what I said last time, so you’ll probably do so again, but Wilder was clearly centrally involved in the Cannon signing and had wanted him for quite some time, regardless of and long before AI or COH Sports.

Here’s the evidence, as still available on the club website:

Wilder says Cannon is someone he's tracked for a while and is a signing which ticked all the boxes with everyone involved in the process.

Wilder said: "It's a super signing for us. Somebody we have tracked for a long time and known about for a long time. He's a young hungry player, position specific, we needed someone who could play on the shoulder and stretch the game, which he does. As soon as we talked about our enthusiasm to get this done, speaking to the boy, he knows what we're all about, and he played here for Stoke earlier in the season. He knows the club are ambitious and I thank the board and the co-chairmen for the backing and support, not just with this signing, but the whole process of what we've been going through and how they've wanted to support me during the window. We're all on the same page with this signing. Great age, we believe he'll play a big part and hopefully a successful second part of this season and beyond as well."

Cannon has shown great pedigree already in the infancy of his career, with Wilder stating there's plenty more to come as he looks to further develop another talented young player.

He added: "It's not just a signing for now, it is one which can take us forward in the ambitions which we have.

"He's an English number nine that stretches the game. I think there's always talk about players wanting to come to feet, he wants to run down the side. Pace and physicality and directness in his play, we know what a good finisher he is as well. There's development in the player, we are coaches - and I'm a manager - who tries to improve players as well, so there has to be that acceptance from the player to be better as well, which, after speaking to him, he's ambitious too. He can hopefully realise all his ambitions here with us and for me it is a really good signing."

It really is looking bad for our Tom when two of the most considered posters in all Bladedom hand down a negative verdict.

Beans describes him as a “goon” in the last ever Bladespod, and now even the renowned tactical eye of Bergen Blade cannot find a place to put him.

I've said it before Cannon and Campbell are both looking poor atm playing as a lone striker, Wilder should now be looking at playing 2 up top, now whether it's Campbell/Cannon or Campbell/One at this present time I'd go with the C/O

How does a professional sportsmen let himself get so out of shape?
Every sporting programme I've been involved with has minimum benchmarks that everyone has to hit - otherwise you're either off the programme or on special measures until you can it them. I refuse to believe Campbell in his current 'shape' could hit anything close to he required standards in terms of stamina, speed endurance and agility. Maybe straight-line speed, but based on what we've seen this season, he's a disgrace.

Maybe that's why Wilder keeps talking up Ings?
