Nothing against the lad but One isn't up to Championship standard either. He tries hard and all that, he makes the most of his ability and there were flashes in pre-season but whenever he's in the Championship he looks out of his depth.

Don't ask me what Tom Cannon does, because I don't know, but One doesn't do much either. It's not like we'd be swapping out dead weight for a matchwinner, it's one form of anonymity for another.
Could be right. I haven't seen him opre-seasin.
But I've never seen Cannon do anything at all. What are his combined touches? Never mind touches in the box, assists or goals.
Even with Oné's limitations, I can see him causing chaos or panic in oppositions defence. Get him running at them and see what happens. Gives opportunity when for a cross or forward ball, then something from the second ball from him, even if he isn't skinning the defence and scoring.
At the moment we haven't even been threatening.

It’s all very interesting

Now Campbell can't be arsed we have Gus as a goal threat, that's it.
I find it crazy that people think losing Moore was a good deal.

What’s really annoying is seeing opposing teams clip balls in behind our full backs for someone to chase while we insist on floating passes to wingers that can’t win headers and/or are double marked with the nearest red & white shirt 25 yards away.

No idea what Ogbene was supposed to do with 90% of the passes to him.

loosing the play offs has a big factor why we arnt winning im not suprised the lads are low VAR cheated we shoild have been 2.0 up and flying it took the stuffing out of our lads to loose like that its affected them more than we will ever know now we cant win,but tufty will get us going to win again and maybee when we hit form we can finnish the job off and win a dam play off finalmwe have no luck but dont worry its a fact like in the past WE WILL BE BACK WINNING we are blades ,chow.,,utb..

Cannon is AI recruited so the board love him . I expect Chris will move him on in Jan to bring in. 1 or 2 wide players & a target nan.

This is what Wilder said, after signing Cannon:-

Wilder says Cannon is someone he's tracked for a while and is a signing which ticked all the boxes with everyone involved in the process.

Wilder said: "It's a super signing for us. Somebody we have tracked for a long time and known about for a long time. He's a young hungry player, position specific, we needed someone who could play on the shoulder and stretch the game, which he does. As soon as we talked about our enthusiasm to get this done, speaking to the boy, he knows what we're all about, and he played here for Stoke earlier in the season. He knows the club are ambitious and I thank the board and the co-chairmen for the backing and support, not just with this signing, but the whole process of what we've been going through and how they've wanted to support me during the window. We're all on the same page with this signing. Great age, we believe he'll play a big part and hopefully a successful second part of this season and beyond as well."

Cannon has shown great pedigree already in the infancy of his career, with Wilder stating there's plenty more to come as he looks to further develop another talented young player.

He added: "It's not just a signing for now, it is one which can take us forward in the ambitions which we have.

"He's an English number nine that stretches the game. I think there's always talk about players wanting to come to feet, he wants to run down the side. Pace and physicality and directness in his play, we know what a good finisher he is as well. There's development in the player, we are coaches - and I'm a manager - who tries to improve players as well, so there has to be that acceptance from the player to be better as well, which, after speaking to him, he's ambitious too. He can hopefully realise all his ambitions here with us and for me it is a really good signing."

That can’t be true, wilder only signs the good players and the board/bettis/des taylor signed all the bad ones.

Biggest problem is we have a midfield full of players who contribute absolutely nothing offensively. Peck and Matos offer no forward threat whatsoever. Ohare buzzes around but when push comes to shove what does he actually do? That leaves Gus who is having a bit of a mare but gets double teamed a lot as hes our only creative player.

Until Blaster comes back to help out I fear for us going forward. Added to this Campbell is a different player to last season, Cannon is absolutely rubbish, our wide players are average at best and we dont have a long ball outlet.

Apart from that we are absolutely fine going forward 🤣
Combine that with the fact we also have a midfield who contribute very little defensively and we’re in big trouble!

I do fear for us if Wilder tries to replicate last season’s style - we have to hope he’s realised how poor we are as a team after Saturday & changes the formation/style.

Even last season we only scored 63 goals - we’ve since lost 23 of those goals (JRS, Moore, Brewster, Anel, BBD). We struggled to create chances last season & the quality & confidence in our front players this season is significantly lower.

Combine that with the loss of Souttar/Souza/Anel who were top championship players defensively and now we look like we can concede every time the opposition come forward. Arguably Tanganga is the only adequate replacement (potentially Mee if he can play enough games).

An extra cb can at least help us shore things up. Play 2 up front & get the ball forward quicker, and give Gus a free role to do what he wants with the extra defensive security behind him. Stop wasting Burrows’ attacking ability - he has 1 attacker to cross to & 7 defenders every time he looks up, we need men in the box to score.

So if he can score, what do we need to do as a team to put him in the position to have the best chance? Naive, I know but it sounds like a plan 🤣
I must admit it was a bit odd watching this video and seeing a confident, goal-hungry, free-scoring, two-footed goal machine compared with the empty shell of a broken footballer who turns out for us every game. What the fuck happened?

Yes, well done Hecky for signing him. There’s no surprise that Preston are now on an upwards trajectory with a fraction of our resources. Stupid decision to bin him off when we did. Just one in a series of stupid decisions that have led us to where we are. But Vinnie didn’t want to be here.
You lose your best players, the ones capable of playing in a first tier league when you end up in a 2nd tier league for more than 1 season.

It's conveniently a COH/"AI" signing whenever there's criticism of the manager's recruitment.

Wilder wanted him the previous summer, so it being a COH signing is bollocks. They backed him with a new deal and Cannon signing.

Wilder should have been smart and told them to use that money on a defender.

"Pace, physicality and directness"

I'm sorry, but I'm not having that we'd seen him play based on that quote.
