After Saturday’s final game of of the season, the players and management would like to spend some time walking around the pitch to thank the Blades fans for their incredible support during throughout this season.

The plan is that the players will go into the home dressing room straight after the final whistle, thus allowing the Coventry City players and staff the opportunity to thank their own supporters in Bramall Lane Upper.

When the Coventry players have departed down the tunnel, Nigel Clough and the players will come back out to thank supporters and walk around the stadium, starting with GAC G/H , then along to the QuickQuid Stand, followed by acknowledging Kennedys KOP and GAC Stand.

The club wish to make it clear that the only way this ‘walk of thanks’ will be able to take place, is if supporters refrain from coming onto the pitch when the final whistle is blown. Please don’t ruin it for others.

Any chance they can walk past the South Stand, Lane End, John Street and the Shoreham as well?

Isn't the referee required to re-start the game after a goal BEFORE blowing for full time?

Good question, it always seems to happen but I don't know if referees have that directive.

In this instance, it's likely that he'd have to abandon the game because they'd never get people off the pitch to restart the game !

Some selfish tossers will, be in no doubt.

I like the way they've rebranded it as a "walk of thanks" rather than a "lap of honour".
They actually do deserve a "lap of honour" this time.

That'll make a nice change from previous seasons where we had some or a combination of:

A meander of mediocrity

An amble of ambivalence

The promenade of pathos

The saunter of sorrow

The traipse of tragedy

The roam of regret

The stride of solitude

The footslog of forlorn hope

and of course who could forget

The troop of poop

Which one sticks out in your minds?

done a few walk of shame in my time

when we got promoted enjoyed
the canter of cockiness
trot of triumph
jig of joyfullness
wander of wonder
trail of happiness

When we got relegated, it was the bimble of bobbar wasn't it?

The walk of wank

Wasn't aware that was just an end of season thing for you, Swizzers :)

Besides, a man of your perspicacity would surely have gone with the time honoured "perambulation of masturbation" would you not?
