Compared with the 2021/22 season

Been looking back at the Slav/Hecky season and comparing it with our current predicament.

Although this is the worst start to a season any of us can remember, we're actually only two points worse off than we were after the first five games in 21/22.

If we can get 24 points or more from the next 14 games (so 7 wins/three draws or 8 wins) we'll be in a better place than when Hecky took the reins in late November 2021. Of course we went on to finish the season in fifth place on 75 points, making the Play Offs.

The difference this time is we've taken remedial action much sooner, so we can be hopeful that we can equal or better what we achieved in 21/22. Could THIS be the year we finally go up via the Play Offs?

Quickly firing up the grey matter but I reckon we may have been better set up then, at least offensively with Sharp, McBurnie, Gibbs-White and an emerging Ndiaye. We also still had Berge, Starman, Bash, etc...
That's not to say it's not possible though..?

That's a good point and I agree with a lot of it. We scored 63 goals in the 21/22 season (the exact same tally as last season). Our goals per game ratio in Slav's 19 league games in charge was 1.21, whereas we averaged 1.48 goals per game in Hecky's 27 matches. Our current GPG ratio after 5 matches is 0.2

Forest on this day 4 years ago. were bottom with 1pt from 7 games & 39 games later gained 79pts, there is a reason why its very rare, for them to achieve it, was only a pro rata 93pts so based on last season it isnt unrealistic. of course we have 2 more games. so it is much easier target
to match forest over 46 games - 90pts
to match Hecky over 46 games - 84pts

but at the moment its baby steps, lets just make sure that when the board said, our aim is not to be playing championship football next season., we dont fulfill that by playing League 1 football
