CONFIRMED Selles Sacked - He’s Gone.

Interesting to see Thomas Frank's start at Brentford, 1 win, 1 draw in first 10 games. Mind you I don't think there was an argument for patience with Selles, had shown little in any of the games and felt like he lost the dressing room, players not playing for him. Part of me a little disappointed we will only even be Wilder FC, but feels like potentially the best compromise at this point in time.

Then again, that Brentford team weren’t the losing play-off finalists or accumulated 92 points the previous season.

Mousinho.. yet we ended up with Wilder. Embarrassing
According to part of our fanbase, yes, but without having any figures, it doesn't appear to be the prevailing view among fans, and the "experts" in the media seem to think we are correcting a huge mistake. But yes, we could all be wrong, in which case we will know it is time to move on.

Huzzah!

That's a very short "off you go" type statement. Very telling.

At least they was competitive. We are not even turning up.

You want it to go tits up for your own club?
Something fishy, or porky about that?
100% pork. He even put a pic of Wilder on last night with a pigs snout as a nose. A mean would a Blade do that? basically saying Wilders a pig? Nope not one would, someone from S6 would though as Wilder is a pig to them. God knows why he is tolerated on here.

All the pro/anti Wilder stuff aside (and I'm leaning, despite previous impartiality, slightly towards pro) - these are the two options...

Trust someone who got us to 3rd and ten minutes from the PL (VAR and THAT slip notwithstanding)

Or

Trust the owners, who replaced as close as you can get to promotion without getting promoted with a man sacked for saving a club from relegation and whose position had they started the season would've been 11th, to pick the right man this time???

Given the abject misery we've suffered to date, I would say the former is the safest option.
God above no! If Wilder gets appointed we can forget about progression, ambition or any sense of a plan to develop SUFC into a stable PL outfit

Loads of clubs have a plan to develop into stable PL outfits, loads of clubs probably have the exact same plan, it's just that it's incredibly hard to do without having hundreds of millions ready to blow on transfers and wages.

Far better to step down into League 1 and build from there.

Over how many years?

Needed doing. Would rather have 70% of the fan base behind the manager, all be it for the 3rd time, than 95% against him with no signs of improvement.
Arse kicking boots kn please Chris, get these fuckers playing for the shirt and hs poor fans.
And special mention to COH, thank you for listening but let's learn from the AI appointments please.

If Wilder comes back he's definitely in a position of strength here. Because it'll be the club asking him to return, not the other way around.
Is that a good thing though? He obviously loves the club and will be desperate to do well, but he likely won't be under any pressure to adapt. Just feels like a big step back for the club to me.

Selles is upset and hurt, he was given a verbal assurance he’d get at least The Charlton and Oxford games during the International break but a combination of the second half surrender to Ipswich and a player revolt lead to this.

Board was split on whether to re-appoint Wilder or look at other targets but have decided they need someone in to hit the ground running, rather than go through a 2 week interview process. Other names being seriously considered were John Mousinho and Steven Gerrard.

I’m sorry. You can’t be upset after you have 2 weeks to work with the players and turn in the most abject surrender on the second half. We got PUMPED.

They were not buying anything he was selling.

He never tried to change the approach which created zero and also was unable to restrict the opposition.

We won 0% of the games and you could argue we have turned in maybe 90 minutes of decent football over the 6 games. The emperor had no clothes.

The COH statement is weak though. Mentioned fan sentiment as a reason for getting rid. You can’t blame the fans when you left Selles to start the season with RND at centreback and 1 winger of potentially championship calibre in the squad. It was 1) the appointment of an under qualified guy to the position he wasn’t ready for.
2) not giving him any of the tools to succeed. They should own that.
