overall attendances are down 5 % in FL72 , partly cost partly apathy maybe

sufc gates down by 1000 on last season 17360 from 18472 around the average drop
our attendance loving neighbours
swfc down now to 20997 , falling under 21k after the charlton game 3000 down on last seasons 24078 or 12 % rounding off

its a general malaise in football as football prices keep pushing fans away

Good support considering where we are.
Should arrest the slide next year with a good start.
Come on Nige 3 strikers please. (yes 3).

Our attendances have been excellent all things considered. I think the drop is more to do with another season in League 1 and the fact that until February we were relegation contenders - than it is to do with prices.

If the Board show some long overdue ambition in the summer I'm sure the attendances will be even higher.

The only way to keep your attendances up is to be more imaginative with season tickets and one off game offers. We need to build on the momentum of the 2nd half of this season and should be offering ultra competitive season tickets. Personally I would reduce season tickets on the kop the most and offer interest free monthly payments.

Add an Adidas kit and Billy Sharp (just for you SEB) and anything is possible.

Shame our gates are down, but I sometimes wish they would measure attendances with AND without away fans. Last year we had some big followings at the lane (Chezzy, Donny, Huddersfield) whereas our 'bigger' home games this year (Basically just Rotherham and Wolves) fell at unfortunate times/dates. I would imagine our core support hasn't dipped hardly at all in real terms, and as Digger says, this should be addressed when we actually have something worthwhile to turn up for!

Win matches and contend for promotion next year :)

The pricing at the Lane is reasonable. The football in the first half of the season was not.

I paid £18 for my 5 y/o to attend a game a couple of weeks ago. Seems a bit steep, I think anyone under 16 should be a fiver max.

I think £18 for an adult ticket is perfectly reasonable BTW

As far as ourselves and that lot are concerned, I'd say they've held up pretty well considering we have both had for the large part pretty ropey seasons. I'm really surprised that ours only dropped by 1,000 and shows a remarkable loyalty given the dross that was served up last season and for much of this.

£300 for a season ticket in the Kop is, and should be, as cheap as it gets. I wish it were different, but it's unrealisitc to charge less and compete in the modern game. We are regularly rated as one of the cheapest season tickets in our respective league.

It's not about prcing, IMHO. It's about being shite, or not.

When we next get back to the premier league, I can gaurantee that the "financial pressures" that have put some off from renewing season tickets will completely disappear.

no on john st

You've been done then cos it should have 'only' been £14. Probably gave you a concessions instead of U16.

Im eagerly anticipating the new prices being announced, started taking the two eldest (5 and 6, though will be 6 and 7 next season) to a few games but if the prices are reasonable then it might allow us to do more.

Personally I think U10s season tickets should be £50 max.

trouble is in the eyes of the money men a seat is a seat whether a 5 or 6 year old is sat in it or not so they want to get maximum amount the can for it. This is ok when you have people on waiting lists like arsenal but unless your selling out week in week out I can't see why they couldn't do it

I hope they do away with the 3 price categories too. Just have one flat price all season - £18 adults, £10 conc, £5 U16s.

I sometimes get dictated by which category games are, at least one flat price all fans know where there at all season.

Similar season tickets to this season, with direct debit options.

Id be happy with all that. Jim - are you listening?!

I am hoping for cheap as chips U10 seats, Want to take the little un to his first few blades matches next season but at £14 a pop, might have to reconsider, not sure if he would even stay for the full game!

That's true. In the Championship you get local 'derbies' and half a dozen teams will bring big support (Leeds, Forest, Leicester etc.) Discount these and our crowds and Wendy's are pretty similar. As you say, the Wolves following was particularly poor.

On other threads, there's talk of who we could 'bring in'. Well, we can't have cheaper tickets and a 'wish list' of players.

We made just under £1.2m from the Cup run, but that's a one-off.

So our massive neighbours, if you take out average away supporters, would be under 20,000 piggies per game, how massive is that.

Never going to happen (and nor should it in my view).

In which other business do you charge the same for all your products?

Would you expect to get a BMW 7 series for the same price as a 3, or Steak and chips at the same price as a bacon butty? You charge more for when you know the tickets will sell and less for when you expect them not to. It would be pretty silly not to.

If we still have Rotherham in our league next season plus get Chesterfield, Barnsley and maybe Donny or someone like Birmingham i think that will help up the attendance.

You go to the cinema and pay the same price regardless of how good a films meant to be.

The money men count money, not seats filled.

Really? Excellent news. How old are they? My little un will be 3 and a half by the time the season rolls round and has been showing an interest in watching football lately so might get him one at them prices.

My kids season tickets were £40 and £60 respectively on South Stand and figured they only had to make 50% of home matches for it to be a bargain; they attended more as it was so all well and good! :)

I've no complaints whatsoever at our pricing categories. I do wish it was easier to find out which category individual matches are. Unless I'm a bit thick, (quite likely) I can't find this information on the official site.

Anyway another season in my 48 years supporting and attending matches is coming to a close and my love for the club has never died.

Here's to next season

they were 13 and 15. It may only count with a full price paying adult.

Numbers depend on the quality of opposition , take the championship next season . if Fulham cardiff and norwich drop away numbers at championship games wont be enhanced much , whereas if villa or sunderland dropthey will take larger numbers

We only made 1.2 m from cup run,i thought it was more 2.5 mill graf?
The MD was on RS about a week ago and said we had got just under £2million income. Don't forget they have already ready that £800k of that is to sort the pitch out. That leaves £1.2million to spread over the term of players contracts(e.g. if 4 years and extra £400k per season . If we have to take 60% due to ffp,you are lookin at £340k per season over 3 years
