We are coming back baby ..

Always fancied another crack at the EFL TROPHY.

More chance of playoffs than relegation.

The owners are cut throat. Selles will soon be replaced. We have several good players, they just need organising properly.

Very confident the replacement manager can’t be any worse.

Looking bleak

Apart from first half v BC up top we’ve been dire

Last 3 games all 0-1

Can’t score for toffee atm

Seriously Ipshit away next game. Anyone see a result there? I can’t

No chance

They took an age to finally decide to ditch Wilder, which doesn't imply they are 'cut throat'. Not every member of the consortium will have the same opinion (as was reportedly the case when CW was sacked).

Hopefully if they do decide to pull the trigger they will identify the new manager first and have a contract waiting to be signed. But it's not a given that they will all agree on who replaces Selles'. That's the nature of joint ownership.

I actually wouldn't mind it 🤣. Some of my best memories (and questionably worst) of following united were in league one. It'll filter out some of the entitled fans we have.

Success for a club like ours comes in waves. We're fully past the wilder Dreamland now. Think we need to revaluate what to expect from football now.

This is what 5 defeats on the bounce does to a man by the way..

Got to break the losing habit fast before it becomes impossible. I never thought I'd want to see us sack a manager after 4 league games but this just isn't working. As much as Weir was a complete disaster and it was a miserable 2 months he had a philosophy and fell on his sword. The team currently do not have a style of play, we just pass it around and either lose it or eventually play a long ball through to their keep or onto the centre half's head.

Fail badly. Fail quickly. Fail spectacularly. Then wander about being clueless. Up the "yanks"

I think we are down unless we unearth a Championship level Drogba before Monday.. we just won’t score enough to stay up.
So fussy. I mean would 11 and half goals not be enough for you?

Let's call it 12. So 11 goals could bring us 33 points, and just 19 draws to give my disastrous 52 points last day relegation prediction.

I don't think we gonna get to the 52 though anyway 😕

WE'VE WON EVERYTHING!*

*Except the EFL TROPHY & COMMUNITY SHIELD

We ain't close to getting anywhere near the Community Shield. So yeah give us another crack at the EFL TROPHY ;)Baaaarnsley, Chezzi, Donny & Rov'rum have all won it.

Surely if they do sack him they'll have a replacement lined up, might be worth noting that Rohl and Gary O'Neil (both of whom were rumoured targets) are both out of work.

If Selles goes, I'd like a replacement straight through the door.

International break now (a much needed one) so that should give them ample time to make a decision.

Agreed but please not Rohl or O Neil.

Presuming bridges are burnt with Wilder I'd go for Challinor or Robins.

A lot of these players were in the side pushing for promotion last season, they haven’t turned into relegation no hopers over night.

I think the cause of the problem is pretty clear to everyone (which is we have a manager that doesn’t know what he’s doing). If we act quickly on that the results with this squad should soon improve.

No one can look at Selles' professional career and conclude that he 'doesn't know what he's doing' regarding team selection and tactics. He is trying to implement a playing style that has worked for him before. For whatever reason, it isn't working now.

I can look at how he’s performing here and say he doesn’t know what he’s doing. 2 away games both with no shots on target, persisting with a midfield 3 that everyone can see isn’t working, no clear tactics or plan, it’s all just a complete mess.

Yeah, I think the owner's dilemma now is deciding when is too late to bring about change to make a run at the play offs, rather than worrying about relegation.

Have they seen enough to believe he can't turn this around to make enough difference.

It's easier to have patience when there are still signs of encouragement, even if results aren't forthcoming. But in the space of a week and two games, my attitude has changed notably.

The preparation and management of that game today was well below what should be expected of a club with our aspirations.

Fair enough, only mentioned Rohl and O'Neil because we were meant to be looking at them over the summer.

Not sure if Robins would leave Stoke but Challinor is a good shout.

If I had to pick any manager out of the championship, Mousinho at Portsmouth would be my first shout, like the way he sets up his Portsmouth side and would be more than happy to give him a go with our squad.

Give Selles half a dozen Drogba's it wouldn't make any difference under Selles. He could hack it in League One and that is where we are headed at the moment.
