How do you read that??

This Journey has only just started??

I honesty hope it means the obvious and that he is staying with us next year! A player of his quality is a luxury at this level and he would be a very important player for us.

Surely this money from the FA Cup and the money coming in from HRH etc will allow us to bankroll his salary within FFP rules?

I HOPE HE STAYS!
 

I would say "Here is all the FA cup money. Please John stay with us and keep your beard."
 
If he stays next season we will all look like ipswich or norwich fans:p
 
Three things that will potentially stop Brayford coming to us;

Cardiff get relegated - He is a very good championship defender, hopefully he won't fit into Solskjaer's plans but they might want to keep him after his recent form with us

Wages - Can we get anywhere near his current Cardiff wage, from Clough's reports on Brayford he doesn't seem the greedy type, but he would probably have to take more than a 50% wage cut not many footballers would be prepared to do that.

Transfer Fee - Cardiff paid £1.5m I don't think they will be holding out for a return of the full fee but they will want to recoup as much as possible. Clough said he would like to have a similar deal next season with Brayford returning on loan but his current form has obviously put him in the shop window.

Brayford might love the club and we obviously love him but I would be very surprised to see him here next season. Pleasantly surprised that is!
 
I'd keep him next season...but only if he shaves it off..! :O

My understanding of the FFP rules are you can spend all the money you get from sponsorship. We have a lot of that...
  1. V sports (home shirt)
  2. That Chinese thing (away shirt)
  3. Mbuzz (wembley shirts and training kit)
  4. Shout (training kit)
  5. Redtooth (academy)
  6. Quick quid/kennedys/GAC/westfield (bramall lane)
  7. All the boards around the pitch.
  8. Advertisements on the OS.
Thats all i can remember and we've got all of HRH and McCabes money.

I think we can afford a few brayfords

Speculative at best. What if each only paid a quid for sponsorship (a Quick one in the case of one sponsor). Sponsorship means nothing in quantity, its the value of each sponsor that counts.

Hope he is staying and from that tweet you would hope there is room for optimism. Another seasons loan with an option to buy perhaps? There are smart ways of making it possibly happen. Historically we haven't been very smart, but that was then and this is now.

Keep Coady, sign Harris, keep Harry and give Howard a new contract and you start to have the bones of something good. Flynn and Murphy have been a revelation since Clough joined and even Collins and Doyle look better players. I'd argue a bit more quality alongside Harry (pacy centre half) and a couple of good strikers and you are away. Porter is good back up but not your front line starter. Brandy? I know he is capable but his attitude needs to improve for him to be in the reconing.

We aren't far short of a plan but lack quality in front of goal.
 

I read or heard somewhere that Ole Gunner wants Brayford back or was I dreaming? His journey might end at Cardiff but here's hoping he stays.

I've had a few footballers as neighbours, when they've moved on they didn't sell they just rented the house out. Maybe it's an investment. Not trying to squash hopes just not trying to build up my hopes. Fingers crossed though.
 
We ya can tell mr brayford, I'll buy him a bloody house of he signed for the blades. ( it may not be a mansion, in fact it's more likely to be a shed ) but the important thing is he will have somewhere to store all his beard grooming equipment

Was talking to a Cardiff fan that said he was 3rd/4th choice, I think they'll look to offload regardless of the league. Maybe season long loan with a view to permanent if we went up?
