He was coming off a bad injury at the time unall.

I could be wrong but I always thought his poor injury record probably had more to do with the distance and poor road links between Ipswich and Nottingham, than any actual physical injury.

I think it might be a good move in the short term.

We’re playing like shit across the park so this isn’t a dig at Campbell. He’s undoubtedly the best striker we’ve got. Great cool and calm finisher.

He ain’t a hold up player or a link up man though. Often at the moment the ball is just not sticking in the attacking half of the pitch and is coming straight back. I think Ings will have the nouse to hold the ball up and link thinks a bit better. He’ll shithouse us a few free kicks too.

If he’s fit it’s worth a go imo

I’m happy with this signing. Campbell looked like a lost soul on Saturday and we’re crying out for somebody else with some nous up top either alongside him or in support. I don’t think Ing has ever been a player who relied on pace so his age is not too big a worry. He’s had plenty of games in the top flight in the last 2 or 3 seasons and is supposedly a bit of a leader in the dressing room.
Taking all that into account, it’s got to be worthwhile at the right level of wages.

Like everyone else he'll be judged on performances, but we have been crying out for some experience and some leaders.
I have no idea if this is part of his game but if he can bring some calm into the team and help make the ball stick up front too then great.
I see him as a better version of Moore, so we'll see. It is a while ago now but the last time he played at the Lane he looked great (I think he got a last minute goal against us?)
What I can't understand though is how this fits into the style of play Selles was trying to sell the owners and the fans just a few weeks ago.

As Oli on Sheffield United way just said. If we wanted the likes of Mee, Ings etc then we could have signed them weeks or even months ago so they would be fit and had a pre season. It strikes me as a bit desperate and panic signings. Maybe we wanted them earlier but the said players wanted more money but I'm not convinced on that argument.

Not sure you can always assume this, the player could have been waiting for offers further up the food chain from the premier league or abroad.

It would alienate alot of the fan base but I am a sucker for wanting to watch the world burn. If they announced them both as 2 English signings underneath a flag on a random streetlight or a painted roundabout the meltdown would be pretty funny to watch I can't lie
