Watched it at home today. My take is that more deserved supporters get the tickets, and to be frank, I am sick of trudging away from Wembley/The Millennium Stadium with my heart in my shoes.

So my mate an his missus came down from Shiregreen to my gaff, and my other mate from the Navy contacted me to aske where I was watching it. He is an 'Ull fan. My Sheffield mate dropped the bombshell that ITV and BBC - the spineless, disrespectful cunts that they are - were not showing it and it was available only on BT Shitpipe. Well, thanks for that. So I hastily spent £30 and got the subscription.

Today we all dined out in Gunwharf Quays and went back settled to watch the warm up at home. I must say, BT are dead good at showing complete neutrality and observing the correct level of perspective with their coverage of mainly Hull City fans and features and large, irrelevant tracts of Brian fucking Cluff. Hint to them. Its his son who manages Sheffield United. Sheffield United are not Notts Forest of Derby. Nigel Cluff makes no gain on his surname or connections with his father. Sheffield United are the team in the semi final, not Derby or Notts Forest. We beat them two games ago to get here. Oh, and Warnock singing, 'Greasy Chip Butty'. Please don't ever doubt his loyalty. We totalled the square root of fuck all in the warm bar the cursory 'route to Wembley' shit. Remind me to cancel my subscription tomorrow.

The game?

We made them look shit in the first half. We played some lovely stuff and deserved the first goal. Great to see what wing play can do, innit? Their goal? Shame Harry went to sleep and Brayford wasn't close enough but it was well taken. Our second ... fuck me I almost exploded with joy. Amazing what wing play can do #2 innit? Quality stuff from Murphy and a finish to die for.

Second half - whatever Bruce said to them worked because he made the changes in the middle to stop us dominating and made them play like a Premiership team. The first one was sloppy picking up, the second one Collins was flat footed and the third was just poor ability to clear a dangerous situation. After that it was business as usual really and it wasn't until we got the break after forcing them back a bit. Great finish by Murphs and really we were a quality finish my Maguire away from extra time before they broke for the fifth.

I am so proud of my football club now. They did us all proud. We haven't a quarter of their monetary value on the pitch but my wish for the team to 'turn up' was fulfilled. We gave a PL team a good run out and came out well from an eight goal thriller.

Well done Clough. Well done United. Well done the supporters. Despite the defeat, It is great to be a Bladesman. We should be proud of the lads.

Next season ...

I've finally come to the conclusion that Wembley is shit.

When Baxter scored there was hardly any noise. That's not a reflection on the United fans, just down to the fact that Wembley is so massive that it totally kills any noise and atmosphere.

They really need to get back to playing at Old Trafford and Villa Park.

I agree, Wembley is just a vacuum for noise, gets lost in the vastness, sad to say despite all the money they spent on it, it doesn't feel like a proper football stadium

It's all relative - the Daily Telegraph this morning says that the noise from the United fans was the loudest heard at Wembley since the stadium was renovated.

Take a bow, one and all.

I was talking to a Hull fan on the train back to Tunbridge Wells and he said how awesome our fans and the noise we made was deafening. He was very complimentary. I think it must just sound crap to those in the fringes

I think it's more the fact that no one could really believe it!

We scored 3 times at Wembley and we are still moaning!

Agree mate, but what I find a tad worrying is that we scored 3 times yet still lost. All things considered, we saw the makings of a team that with a few additions can compete at a higher level. The real trick will be either holding onto those players who are currently regarded as indispensable, or that we find suitable replacements who are capable of maintaining our current progress. Whatever happens, well done Nigel for giving us back our pride UTB

Amen to that brother, but I'm afraid it's not going to happen.
The area around the stadium really is a shithole and the parking facilities are worse now then they were at the old wembley.

I used to work at Wembley. Take it from me - if you think it's a shit hole now you should have seen it ten years ago. Also - driving into the area and trying to park is always a blunder if you don't have to do it.

I'd always recommend using Wembley Stadium station in preference to Wembley Park tube. I was home in Oxford 70 minutes after leaving the stadium yesterday after getting the train north from Wembley Stadium.

Finally - at £5 a pint the beer's not too badly priced compared with the grotty pubs in the area. It also beats sloshing your way up from Baker Street after a few ales as well. It may be my age but that, coupled with reasonably decent food means that I'd recommend turning up an hour early and having a couple in the stadium.

Crouchy's right. For the Hudds PO Final me, missus and granddaughter turned up and ended up in the Green Man. What a fucking disaster that was. My granddaughter was terrified. We then went down the road and found a better set of boozers but for facilities, its best in the stadium itself rather than out in the wild ruck of things.

What with the scrapping yesterday, I am kinda glad I didn't go. Why are people such predictable wankers?

Unofficial parking was fine. I paid £10.50 and parked on someones drive, 20 minutes stroll past the Green Man and through a park to the west of the stadium. There were no issues getting away from the area back to the M1. All pretty straightforward.
