Robbo and RND could well leave before the end of the window. Godfrey can play RB so we might see a back 4 of Burrows, Mee, Tanganga, Godfrey. Then we'll have McCallum, Bindon, Seriki on the bench.I was surprised when he said it
I’m starting to think that with so many irons in the fire if the others come off Mee might not be offered a deal?
Great shoutAnd Gordon Cowans
Wayne Allison will always be a legend for me, my mate played at Chesterfield with him. He said if he didn’t score in a game he had a woman on speed dial who he paid for sex, he had a rule where he had to pay her a visit on the way home to get his frustration out.Wayne Allison up there of course.
I really hope we get a move on with Ben Mee, I think he could be such an important signing for us.
A more than capable player at this level, a sensible dressing room leader (which we've lacked for a while now) and a potential coach at the end of his contract.
I've always really liked him. I hope his contract isn't dependent on offloading JLT.
Mee too!I think we will
I too think he would be a good signing not as sexy as others being mentioned but one who at the end of the season would have proved invaluable
Similar to Billy Sharp in our last promotion season then?He belongs in a window seat at a nursing home, not in a side hoping to challenge for promotion.
No.Similar to Billy Sharp in our last promotion season then?
A lot of us probably said the same when we signed Craig Short in 2005.He belongs in a window seat at a nursing home, not in a side hoping to challenge for promotion.
Think it’ll depend on us finding a scrapyard that takes in defunct cybermen (Robbo)It has the feel of we will make a decision next week on Mee if we don’t sign the 3 of Godfrey nils and tanganga. If we sign all 3 I don’t think Mee will happen
Think it’ll depend on us finding a scrapyard that takes in defunct cybermen (Robbo)
And Bob HattonAnd Gordon Cowans
Maybe that's why we looked at doctor wooThink it’ll depend on us finding a scrapyard that takes in defunct cybermen (Robbo)
I remember in the promotion season under Wilder, we had Richard Stearman in the squad. He did not start a lot of games. But, what he did do was regularly come on for the last 5 minutes, when he was an absolute boss at clearing our six yard box from set pieces and real menace in the opposition box if we had a corner. By all accounts he was an absolute leader and standard setter off the pitch, despite his reduced role in the first team. You can imagine Mee bringing similar value, if he jones alongside a Godfrey/Tanganga - Bindon partnership.
Maybe. But that doesn't negate the fact that in his last 5 seasons Mee has generally been out for over 100 days per season due to injury.A lot of us probably said the same when we signed Craig Short in 2005.
Based on performances so far I hope he brings Jake Wright…Hope he brings Jake Wright’s record!
He’s played more than Godfrey in the last few seasons.Maybe. But that doesn't negate the fact that in his last 5 seasons Mee has generally been out for over 100 days per season due to injury.
Is this what we want leading our back line?
Martin Cranie in 18/19 too, didn't start too much but always looked solid whenever called upon.I remember in the promotion season under Wilder, we had Richard Stearman in the squad.
