Probably most likely is they made the appointment after it emerged that the budget was going to be lower than expected. Otherwise you'd expect more proven names but none of them were ever even linked. They've then gone with the manager they (or their AI.... or James Bord!) deemed to have the highest ceiling while still being grateful to get anywhere near the job

Good point TBH, he looks like a L1 standard manager at best currently and whilst it is sad to see the club not where we want it to be, questions do need to asked of the management choice, as well as the owners not backing him to date.

When Rohl took over them and they were bottom he didn’t think I’m going to play attractive football he thought right this is the bag of shit I’ve inherited and somehow I have to get the results, the football was not good but he got the results. Selles needs to have the same mentality, sod your footballing philosophy just set the team up differently and try and scrape a few results together sharpish or you won’t have time to implement your philosophy as new players come in over the next couple of windows, you’ll be long gone.

It's the most mystifying managerial appointment in the clubs history. Sacking the man who nearly got you promoted and replacing with a bloke who got sacked after his team narrowly avoided relegation.

The side should be doing better, but it isn't and there aren't really any signs that performances are likely to improve anytime soon.

Today, we made a very average Swansea team look like Real Madrid, there was enough quality on that pitch from us to not make it be that way. The players just looked like they were going through the motions to me, with zero game plan, or at least a basic understanding of it?
