Jack Robinson to Wrexham

Parkinson is doing this absolutely right. He is building a Wrexham team with very experienced Championship players for consolidation in the championship. United on the other hand seem to be losing all their experienced players :(
But where did experience get us when it came to the crunch last season? Lost every big game, and in the one that mattered Moore carelessly gave the ball away and Robinson was too slow to close down?

Last time we were in the PL 'experience' saw us battered every week.

It's a cliche. Parkinson will consolidate them as an upper mid tier Championship side and they hit heir ceiling and have a massive wage bill

I'd rather have a strong, athletic, dynamic team that is going to improve week on week.

The biggest issue for me is why we haven't gone to our and bought the best athletic Cb and RB from League One?? We did it with Burrows and worked out ok. No idea why we wouldn't stick to that model??

I don’t actually believe it - but to an outsider - COH’s behaviour at the moment & apparent inability to spend any money looks very much like ‘Asset Stripping’ to protect their investment & avoid losses!
How much did they pay for the club? How many players will they have to sell to recoup that? How much will the club be worth after a relegation? Now do you realise how stupid the “asset stripping” argument is?

I don't get why some people on here (and on X where there's more of them) keep claiming that COH Sports are penniless and are "asset stripping".

What Chansiri is doing at Pigs is asset stripping (probably one of the worst cases of it), what Dai Yonnge did at Reading was asset stripping, both of whom sold their ground and other parts of club, decreasing its overall value and ultimately crippling it in exchange for instant money in your hand.

We've sold three (soon to be four) players who had no interest in staying here, and have made/will make a profit and will free up wages on all of them.

Yes, it was silly to sell Anel this late without a replacement, and rightly so they should be criticised for it, but if he really wanted out, would he have even played if he was still here and clearly wanted out (our Captain who is expected to go was on the bench?).

How is that asset stripping?

You're right. Asset stripping isn't getting £2m for Moore and 8 figures for a guy in the last year of his contract...

However, the context of this will only be known once we see who gets brought in.

It's a cliche, but one that our current manager seems to very much believe is important, as has every other manager I've ever seen discuss the topic. If he offered nothing, he'd not have been here in the first place and he certainly wouldn't have been given a new contract.

What you're describing (strong, athletic, dynamic team that is going to improve week on week) is a FIFA career mode team. There's a reason you don't see them in real life.

We brought in one of the best CBs from League 1 this window, just on loan because he wasn't available to buy.

Only just seen footage of pitch “discussion” after Bristol defeat. Interesting gesture by JLT as they were dismissed….

The sooner we sign a replacement for him the better. As much as Anel was part of it, the fact one half of the worst central back pairing in Premier League history is still here two seasons later, and the captain, is like the punchline to a bad joke. As soon as we sign a replacement we can finally get rid of this piss poor excuse for a footballer. Let Wrexham have him. Us getting a fee for him is an even funnier punchline.

JLT is a legacy problem from the previous management and board.

Should have been gone long ago but one of the 'old guard' who had to be kept around the place.

It's not his fault. What we're seeing is a guy who's now limited in what he can give, seen his protector get sacked and now he's in uncharted territory

Repeatedly/ brazenly swearing at match officials to the level of apologies made by Sky commentary. Pre substitution and at his legendary long throw, referee addresses him like a nursery teacher would a tantruming 3 yr old, hardly precipitates the phone ringing white hot this morning from willing suitors.

Leaves us with a negative influence, at the commencement of a culture shift at the club, a major silverback disruption that's continously churlish year on year. This year we have the added early wiff of a Lundstramesque stink out..must be something in the plate of scouse. Commercially, I'm in the COH will invest/ Rose tint camp. JLT needs to be thanked and sent on his way by whatever means Wrexham or no Wrexham.

There was also the incident, after being booked, where he was about to take one of his legendary long throws, and was told to move by the ref, and kept calling him a nobhead to his face.

I have defended him before but last night was ridiculous behaviour. If he doesn't want to be here, then Wrexham are welcome to him.

He's 35 and hasn't been a regular player for at least 18 months. The chances of him being able to step in at United, play 35+ games in a way of playing that seems likely to be physically demanding are exceedingly slim

We can’t rely on a 35 yr old playing this high line. Last year he’d have been ok. No chance now.

That said, he’d still be better than any of the four CBs we’ve had on the pitch so far.

Should be a straight red card.

A terrible example of a Captain.

If we're serious about changing the culture of the club, then get rid of Robinson and certainly don't make him Captain.
You want a straight red card for that? It was a joke of a booking and he was right to slate the officials.

Overall for the money we paid he's been a very good signing. You'll not get a defender as good as him at this level for £3m. Can't believe people want him gone when he's our only proper centre half
