People will keep saying "great deal" no matter who we sell? But IS IT if we dont replace them or at least buy better? I keep hearing what a fantastic deal for the club Anel and Souza was (I get the Moore one a bit more) but it's not your money. If we dont spend it its a good deal for the owners NOT the team or club.
The same with this one.
Said it a million times over. Just like changing manager, it’s only a good move if the next guy is better.

This isn’t Championship manager either, what caliber of player are you going to attract with the premise of being 3rd or 4th centre back when you only play two?

We’re not Chelsea or Man U. We aren’t going to have 4 first pick centre backs all duking it out. Anyone who thinks this is quite frankly dense.

They’ll need differing profiles for their role.

How much are Wrexham going to offer? A million quid? After yesterday Norrington-Davies is not a serious option. So you have Bindon who also had a shocker but at least has shown some quality in the past year and Sasnauskas, who is young and totally unproven.

Funnily enough I also don’t want to get blasted in the Cup away either. So COH better get deals done fucking yesterday.

Nobody should be leaving until the numbers have been put back to where they should be.

🐍 is not a DoF but I think our nieve owners will be relying on him running the ins and outs. I’m feeling sick after yesterday, imagine their wake up call watching that level of investment swirling down the pan.

Not given up on Sellés, public dressing down after game was a big mistake (I missed it) that might get a few players agents on their phones wanting away. However, handled post match well. Got a feeling he’s going to be COH fall guy.

I do think with the way we do business in the transfer market, late and seemingly only able to manage one transaction at time, needs to be looked at. It certainly seems to be Bettis steering that side of things and I do wonder if there needs to be a different approach/set up in this regard.

Ye where selling players willy nilly without even having anybody through the door to replace them or even knocking on the door. There decimating the squad. They didn't get the £100m back through promotion so now it seems they'll sell any player they can to recoup it as quick as they can and replacing with cheap prospects and loans! (Replacing is a bit far as we haven't seen any yet)

I'm not a fan of COH so far, and it looks very much like they don't know football at all to me!?
It's now time to stand up and show us something, starting the season without defensive options isn't ideal, but after losing like that to Bristol, a team Wilder beat comfortably, twice, only a couple of months ago, shows how we've gone backwards, whilst others have kicked on....
And the fact they seem to hide away, and don't seem to interact with the fan base, doesn't instill confidence.
Lots of work to do over the next couple of weeks.

I’m guessing that Wilder gave COH a few home truths about their naivety before they sacked him. As always, he wasn’t prepared to just meekly allow the owners to undermine the team. Let’s hope Selles is strong enough to also tell them that succeeding in the Championship is a little bit more complex than playing Fantasy Football.

JLT owes us precisely nothing

Given what he can for years and part of some amazing stuff but our fans have pilloried him for too long

We have a history of not succession planning and offering too long contracts, yes under Wilder.

I hope he gets a move to somewhere he's appreciated and gets away from the pathetic vitriol that our 'fans' have dished out.

You reap what you sow. If he leaves us a bigger recruiting problem, then the poisonous keyboard warriors will be, in part, responsible.
Bang on. He's been a solid player, yes had his moments, but given his all for the shirt. Should be welcomed back warmly in my opinion.

He’ll always have my respect for his contribution in our last season in the Premier League. He was one of the few players who gave everything in every game and was consistently man of the match in a team that was chronically short of the required quality.

The manager made Robinson club captain seemingly in the knowledge he might well be leaving the club.
Remarkable manaagement.

For me that shows the lack of leaders at the club.
There's literally no one else.

Baptism of fire this for COH.

There needs to be a redoubling of efforts to strengthen the squad this week or Selles will be under pressure.

After this result clubs will sense we are desperate and so fees will go up.

This would be utter madness after yesterday. We'd need to bring in 3 centre backs which could take weeks to get in. We could be miles off the pace by that point.
After yesterday mate, I've accepted were definitely going to be off the pace, just about got the play off disaster out of my head then this fucker! Happens and it all came flooding back!

Imagine seemingly not allowing the recruitment of senior experienced players when Robinson is your only half suitable captain

With Wilder it felt like we had a plan. Here we’re selling players then working out what to do next.

No idea how much money they have or what their supposed grand plan is but I couldn’t be less impressed by them.

They don’t even communicate.

I thought we were short at CH after last summer. Again in January. Now we have no top end Championship quality whatsoever. Zero. It’s been a year in the making.

If we don’t sign significant experience and physical strength in that position then we’re hanging Selles out to dry, and setting up a youthful team for a fall.

I’m sure we will make signings. But it’s very hard to rectify now.

Given how difficult it can be sign a 4th choice CB for a team that play with a back 4, as 4th choice implies that they won't play that much, wouldn't it be easier to have Sasnauskas and/or Baptiste (when he returns from injury) as a 4th choice CB.

At least with 2 new CB's, it would be easier to convince them to come as you're telling them that both of them and Bindon will be competing with each other for 2 CB positions.

We all want it to work for Selles there's no doubting that but it does seem they've brought a yes man in & they got shot of wilder because he wouldn't have been that man and stood for the selling of every valuable asset.

Yep, the plan after Souttar’s injury was abundantly clear, wasn’t it.
Overall I mean. We’re down to the bones purely due to the Board’s own decision making. His plan was to get Dunne but the Board wouldn’t pay.

We’d have Dunne and Darling now if Wilder was here but these numpties in charge think we should only sign someone on a permanent if they’re just out of diapers.

They’ve watched a bit of moneyball and think they know how to work the transfer market, forgetting we have matches to play in the meantime.

I honestly think the issue was not having him as a squad player when in the prem the most recent shit show of a top flight season he was arguably the best of our centre backs low bar granted. JLT is championship at best works hard but limited and has a mistake in him. Yesterday Bindon played better with JLT beside him which is scary. We are miles off competing for top 6 saw a post earlier swapped shopping at Sainsbury's for Aldi just about sums it up. I wish JLT all the best if he goes but my god we need 3 quality CB a RB who can defend another DM and a striker minimum and thats before any other departures.

He was still rubbish that season but not as rubbish as everyone else

but he also wanted Cannon so they put their eggs into the Cannon basket

So surely - if we knew last week that Wrexham wanted Robbo - why not sell him & keep Anel? They are both out of contract next summer. Or is it simply we are so strapped for cash we desperately needed the £7 million to balance the books cos COH are royally skint?

Anel wanted to go and wasn't signing a new deal.
