Soumare is a loan with an obligation to buy, Polendakov is a perm, Ukaki is a perm and has played well in preseason - just because they're not flashy and expensive perms doesn't mean we aren't adding to the squad. But, because it isn't a name people know and it hasn't cost loads we don't have ambition ect
Indeed
Who would have wanted us to sign ‘dross’ & frees like Baldock, Stevens, Fleck, Duffy McGoldrick, Ndiaye, Peck (or even Stearman,Wright, Clarke)

Me - gives his all for the shirt, always has. Doesn't shirk a tackle, goes in for challenges most players wouldn't
I dont share your view of a very limited player. Giving your all for the shirt doesnt disguise you do not possess the skills to be an effective centre back for a top end championship team. I don't buy into this culture carrier pashun myth that surrounds JLT. Hes getting older and slower and is a liability that will cost us again if he continues to start in the team.

Frequently loses his man see Burnley at Home. Beaten for pace constantly see Bristol City at Home. Poor in the air see QPR at Home Outmuscled by bigger forwards see Millwall at Home. Error prone see Sunderland and Plymouth away. Guaranteed to cost you 10 points a season.

Ah yes it's purely on JLT all those mistakes and not checks notes Wilders refusal to change him when he wasn't playing well or even give Holding a sniff of the team

Wilder is certainly responsible for selecting the team, but Robinson is responsible for his own performance when he is on the pitch.

He doesn't get to say "well it's the gaffer's fault I fucked up, because he shouldn't have picked me to start with".

It becomes more CWs fault when Holding is playing really well while JLT is injured, then the minute JLT is back holding can't get a minute even when he's playing shite

You’re right it isn’t all on JLT. Wilder had a better option available in Holding and didn’t use him.

There may well be justifiable reasons for that (although I can’t think of any other than fitness/injury) but it doesn’t take away the issue of JLT not being good enough for the first team.

His decision making is poor and his limitations are plain to see… in my opinion.

I reckon we get him.
It’s just pantomime from Hull to bump the price up. If were’re genuinely in for Godfrey too that might just do it. Although I’d be disappointed in the latter hoping to be pleasantly surprised.
As I said in the Doyle thread, I’d be chuffed with either of them.

If we only push the boat out for one player this summer, for me, hes the one. On a permanent please United. Hes the type who could be captain material and a stalwart for us in future years. Just a pity that the blades transfer committee was split when we looked at him before he signed for Hull from Wigan. Great call that one lads.

It can’t be anything but a permanent imo. There’s no way on this planet Hull will loan him to us. What’s the point? They either sell him for a big fee or keep him
