I've questioned this for a while and wonder if Bettis as good as he is made out to be. Deals seem to take forever with him. I thought maybe it's just the nature of the transfer market evolving but then you see teams like Birmingham and Wrexham getting deals done quickly.
We don't have any control over the red tape. As soon as his visa came through we got him over here, gave him his medical, signed him and announced him!

How the hell can he win over our very patient, positive supporters without kissing the badge, unforgivable, gerrim out.

He's got to show how good he is/could be ,he's going to be playing in a shop window in the championship, if we go up and he does really well to get us there I hope the agreement to buy is rock solid.

Yeah it’s all massive spin from COH…… ‘it’s how you tell ‘em’……..

Cue imminent announcement of Kieffer Moore’s exit shortly after this.
To be fair it’s a bit difficult to spin arithmetic!

😆

I think Peck will get that role
I’m not sure we will be seeing Hamer and O’Hare in a midfield three together for that long and I’m not saying they won’t play together.

I can well imagine one might end up getting pushed forward once the midfield reinforcements come in, which will also lessen the need for an immediate forward replacement too.

RCM - Peck/Arblaster/Davies
DCM - Iroegbunam/Soumaré
LCM - Hamer/O’Hare/Caceres

Once that settles down it might be that one of O’Hare and Hamer, who are both too good to not start, pushes on to compete with Barry and Brooks, who only have the relatively inexperienced Oné and Ukaki for company right now.

In turn that also frees up Oné to compete as a centre forward option too.

Important both playing wise and financially, that we have players who can cover a few positions.

Welcome Djibril to Sheffield United. “ yes thank you I’ve always wanted to play for the Blades, that’s all we used to talk about back home in Senegal, the Blades, in fact the 4 seasons I spent in Portugal were always a stepping stone to the ultimate goal of wearing the red and white at Bramall Lane in front of the adoring masses. My life is complete”

Thank you Djibril and good luck

Got to say, I am cautiously optimistic about this signing.
the reviews from Portugal describe him as a bit of a gem with a lot of good attributes that we lost with Vini Souza leaving. Hopefully he can get up to speed quickly and force his way into the reckoning.
From his description, he sounds like he would be more mobile than Vini Souza and more suited to the pressing style that Selles is looking to instil.
A few more signings needed but hopefully this will be a good one.

Genuine question

Are you B56s son ?

The lad looks like a fookin powerhouse. ✔️
Just watched one of his highlight reels on YouTube & have to agree.
First few clips - thought he looked very much Vini-esque.
Next few - now he reminds me more of Declan Rice.
Next few - I thought I was watching prime Patrick Viera!
Overall he looks big, strong, can tackle, pass, run with the ball, find space & looks hard as nails.
I like him already!

Bought Souza, sold for some profit, invested in a younger and potentially better player plucked from relative obscurity?

Yeah hopefully he’s as good as Roy’s view from and Hal saying it’s a “statement” signing

My only gripe is you say we’ve invested in a younger and potentially better player, but he’s not our player, he’s a loan

Patrick Viera came to my mind…His statue and aggression is gonna be very exciting for United fans. Maybe this is the start of the much lauded Brighton/Brentford model bearing fruit. We have sold one of our best players for a profit and regenerated ourselves with someone potentially better…🤞

Do we know how far off the Senegal team he is as there's an African Cup of Nations in December?
The last time he shows as being internationally capped was for their U23s in 2022. Currently Senegal have Gueye at Everton and Camara at Monaco in DM roles so unless they have an injury crisis, I wouldn't have thought he would be called up just yet and they haven't really being using DM's playing them 2 out of position.

Genuine answer - No, no I'm not.
Curious as to why you ask? Other than a striking resemblance in profile pictures. 🤣
Exactly that tbh

He’s getting on a bit 🤏 and we need someone to be the Father of the Board in waiting - you know - succession planning .

He spends too much time nowadays golfing , sowing and smashing up rock into boulders

We have an obligation to buy
