As things stand we have 3 specialist wide attacking players in Brooks, Barrie and Okaki, with the latter probably needing to be used sparingly.

If we don't get anyone else in to cover, we will be reliant on using other players out of position. That being said, One looks quite useful on the LW, cutting inside.

We currently have 7 players for 3 forward positions:

Oné, Barry, Campbell, Cannon, Moore, Brooks and Ukaki.

I don’t see how we entertain more without moving some of those out.

We’re not in a position to be paying good wages for people to just sit in the stands.

Unless Ukaki becomes an alternative to Seriki, given he has apparently played right back before and seems quite combative.

In addition we’ve got 7 for 3 in midfield too; Arblaster, Peck, Hamer, O’Hare, Davies, Caceres and soon Soumaré.

Even then you have decisions to make on Marsh and Hampson and we’ve still no idea what’s happening with Nwachukwu.

So that’s potentially 17 midfield/attack options right now.

I’m not comfortable us wasting money. Hopefully the club has plans to manage those numbers sensibly. I don’t want another Wednesday where wages can’t be paid or where we have a massive fire sale if we do go up because we wasted so much on wages.

Ideally you have two for LW, two for RW and two for CF. I think Moore goes out and maybe Ukaki on loan if we can fix him up. Barry and Oné can fill in all across that front line. So can Campbell at a push but I wouldn't want him to. If we bring in anyone I can only see another who predominantly plays RW.

Moore is most likely on the way out, Selles did nothing to quash those rumours. Ukaki is still an unknown for Championship level and likely a squad filler this year.

Take into consideration Davies is perpetually injured, caceres is untested at championship level and arblaster wont be back until the beginning of September. You’ve got even less wiggle room.

Given we seem to have a very limited budget, there's absolutely no way we should go after Gilchrist for that money.
He wasn't good last season.
