So the club is going with a solid red back for people with sight impairment?! I don't know about anyone else but when I've gone to watch United I couldnt give two hoots about the numbers on the back which as others gave said can still have a solid colour around the number . This is a ridiculous reason unless it's a joke.

Also £60 is far too overpriced and I would only buy it if it was reduced at that price. It's an easy decision to avoid because the kit is crap regardless.

It's not a joke, there's a EFL directive (not mandatory) that it seems like we are following.

With white numbers it will look fine and if it helps visually impaired people see numbers and names easier either at the game or on TV then why not?

What has DH Gate got to do with anything??
And how is my personal opinion on an awful shirt, "a big meltdown", or "toys being thrown"!??

If you find it "embarrassing", feel free to stick me on ignore, that way you won't have to be embarrassed anymore by my opinion, and it'll save you posting replies that are just you giving your own opinion.....

Should now say "I'd be totally embarrassed wearing a fake shirt"!?
No.
But I wouldn't buy a fake anyway.
Alright, sorry.

Bloody hell

Having a good chuckle at this guy getting confused by the teaser for the away kit

The fan says whats the crucible got to do with United ? well the actual place in Sheffield city centre has nowt to do with United......but an actual crucible is one method of melting making iron/steel........and our club has a play with words....forged in steel.....its linked in that way i guess.

The front of the shirt looks absolutely fine in action for me. I really like it:

The front is fine, I even like the look of the sponsor.

The back, not so much

I don’t really get his point. (A) they’ve already announced safe standing (B) he might not have been to the Crucible, but surely he has been to Bramall Lane and the video is clearly not at the Lane.

On Tuesday, it was a combination of yellow v stripes and yellow v red in the first half depending on who was attacking and second half black v stripes and black v red.

... and the Crucible sits on the site of the Adelphi Hotel, where United were formed, so has quite a bit to do with United anyway

Yes, they were, in the Adelphi Hotel. Norfolk Row extended further towards Arundel Gate in the 1880s
United don't reference the Adelphi Hotel anywhere in official channels.
We state that we were formed at #10 Norfolk Row, which is still there

The plaque on Norfolk Row states "in this building" which means we can't possibly have been formed in the hotel as that was 500yards away and was demolished.

The Adelphi Hotel was where it was first decided to create a sports ground on Bramall lane in 1854, leasing the land from the Duke of Norfolk. Obviously the cricket club played there for years before the football club was formed.

Fond memories of the sponsored walk to Barnsley away to raise the money for that plaque.

I've already given my reason mate that I don't give two hoots on the numbers are, half the time, particularly at the BL end, I dont know who's scored and I'm not bothered as long as it's a goal!

I'm not visually impaired or colour blind but again I'm not sure if a red back on the back would improve the impairment based on the fact that I can't see the numbers past the half way live regardless.

Also, as another poster has already done, you can out a white box around the number like we had back in the early 1990's. It's not hard.

So we can have the best of both worlds but no let's just go solid back and it looks crap.

It’s all bullshit. They’re just using the visual impairment thing because we fucked up getting to the PL but dropped a bollock and ended up with a kit that fits PL rules that don’t even apply to us. The striped version shown by Errea shows it was an option. And one that could have been approved once we lost at Wembley. Errea did the special promotion shirt at very short notice the other year so this signed off months ago stuff is also just waffle.
