Based on a 3 minute video i've seen, if we miss out on this guy, i'll be devastated
Can you share it? I can't be bothered to watch all the fan clicky bait bollocks, where they just pass a ball 2 yards for 3 minutes.

I have liked everything i've seen heard about this one, would say I was surprised how slow Portuguese football looks compared to how their U21s play!

I watched two minutes of a six minute video and he looked impressive but it also looked a bit like watching walking football at times. A real lack of intensity. It’s not to say Soumaré can’t be good over here, but it just felt like not the best way of working out how good he could be. It’s the kind of thing that makes me think of Sander Berge. He’s thriving in the Prem now as one of Fulham’s standout players but he basically used his years with us to get used to English football.

Some proper full weights on here, and there exactly the sort of people that will fuel failure by expecting 10/10 for everything the club and players do this season.

Not signed or kicked a ball yet, but because he’s foreign he won’t be able to handle the championship. Talk about entitlement, not been an English player who’s won championship player of the season for the last 5 years. Times have changed.
Plus the ones who say the Championship player of the year was lucky and didn’t deserve the award .

Local media have been very very quiet today.

Yet there are links to Barry and fresh stories about Soumare.

The English is mostly excellent. I did struggle a bit with Nacional fans though as they only average 2,500. Braga are very impressed with him though

Braga sent him on loan last season to Nacional.

Isn't Braga managed by Carlos from S6?

They’re all tied up wondering what Chansiri will do next, the attention seeking little bigger!

Looks to be a much better passer than Souza and faster too

Apparently not, which seems strange seeing his HL. I dont understand how he attempts so few passes. Even his interceptions would seem loads higher.
Look at those take ons though, maybe he's a different player than what we expect and far from a like for like replacement.

I think it's important to find the right balance between the low risk/high reward approach but also bringing in players that are more safe bets. I love this new strategy of trying to find diamonds in the rough and develop them. But even Brighton have brought in the likes of Welbeck and Milner over the years.

Difference is that those are free transfers that are already proven for where Brighton aspire to be, whose total cost of ownership for what you get would not be absurd. The types of "safe bets" that get trotted out as player suggestions for us are, almost without exception, never going to work at where we aspire to be and the total cost of ownership would be horribly inefficient. Hardly comparable.

I believe we did and he says he was leaving.

At which point you need to ask whether transfer fee we could have received plus Anel wages paid is value for one season of Anel offerings. If he is on, say, 20k/week and we would get £5m from a sale, ask "is one season of Ahmedhodzic worth £6m?" or, more clearly, does paying that much for someone who is clearly a top end Championship defender retain enough of a chance of PL TV money compared to going without him. This is 2025, players leaving for free at end of contracts is standard and certainly not the catastrophy many make it out to be.

I don't think he is a Souza type player from the little clips I've seen. He's much more creative from deep, a marauding who breaks up play and then looks to take it forward. Souza didn't do that, or did it rarely, even if we were screaming at him to drive on into the space, it just wasn't his thing.
Looking at the rating wheels it seems Souza was a more defensive, shielding type player.

I do think Souza's starting spot is where we would play him, but I don't think we're looking for a like for like replacement.
