If the owners want to show ambition, this is the type of transfer we have to make.

Finding cheap players via AI is nice, but you have to sprinkle in some ambitious signings here and there.
The new owners have already shown ambition .... They spent £10 million on Cannon

I am happy for them not to show any more

Come on, Cannon can only get better........can't he!?

I don’t think this is happening. Birmingham, Club Brugge and another club have the same identical article from that site indicating their interest.

Antman on the other hand wouldn’t take an ESC slot and would qualify for a work permit outright due to:

  • 10 points from playing in a band 2 league
  • 8 points from domestic appearances
  • 2 points from international appearances (100% for >50 ranked team)

Dreams crushed

Full internationals don’t automatically qualify for a work permit. They still need 15 points by meeting certain criteria such as:

  • Strength of the league they’ve played in
  • % of league minutes played
  • Final league position
  • Domestic and European cup runs
  • % of international games played over the last 2 years.

The full internationals automatically getting a work permit is a sliding scale based on FIFA rankings:

Ranks 1-10 need to have played 30% of games in 24 months, Ranks 11-20 need 40%, Ranks 21-30 need 60%, Ranks 31-50 need 70% and >50 don’t automatically qualify for a work permit.

Nigeria are currently ranked 43, and Ukaki hasn’t played any international games in the last 2 years. Playing one game would give him zero points towards his 15 point target.

Not just based on the Ant Man, but I'm a touch twitchy about the initial excitement of savvy international signings. I'm curious how Jeff and the Nigerians* do, but I'd very much like us to sign some more established foreign lads too. There's time obviously.

* catch them playing llo-fi indie at the Foundry in October.

Think Kallio exemplified the phrase 'solid but not spectacular' from memory.

File next to Besic, Mo.

And Leicester. And Southampton. And also mentioned as interested are Anderlecht, Brighton and Brentford. Would be a fantastic signing but not sure if we've been duped by a story completely made up for a few clicks
