Percentiles are like rankings and often have a range such as 0-10%,11-20% etc. 99% defensive actions puts him in the top 1% probably the best player in their league for last season.

If he’d have been 70% that would’ve meant he’d outperformed roughly 70% of his competition and 30% had beaten his numbers.

It doesn’t mean he won 99% of his defensive actions. Just his numbers put him in the top 1% - so either way he’s been extreamly effective.

6ft 2 is not a ridiculous height. Above 6ft 8 would be pretty rare in football but perhaps regarded a minimal height for sports such as Basketball.

First thing I would be looking for is pace, not anything mentioned in the thread so far. He can win every aerial duel in the world but if one through ball along the ground puts a striker in behind and us either down a goal or down to ten (cf. Egan, John) then it's completely irrelevant

True, but we had Souttar wiping out every forward ball. Someone similar with a quick CB at the side of him will work fine.

He’s a great age as they used to say on Soccer AM. From looking at the stats he looks like one of the best CB’s in league 1. Hopefully he can improve and become a good championship player.
