First off hello all, iv been a browser off this forum going on a year now but i reckoned id start to give my 2ps worth every now and again.

Im obviously delighted with the recent run, and was happy with Clough at the time of his appointment so am glad its gone so well. I think its been underplayed the effect that Clough's January shipping out of certain players has had on the moral and team spirit that the current squad has.
Obviously Clough's tactics and man management has been vital to our run, but i believe its significant that in recent interviews, Howard, Coady, Porter, and even Clough have all emphasised the togetherness and honesty felt in the current squad.
For me, this has alot to do with Clough not only trimming the size of the squad altogether to develop a closer bond between the players, but also his clearing out of bad eggs in January. Certainly King and Brandy came across as having negative attitudes.
I believe that the desire, work-rate and passion for the team which is there for all to see has come about as a result of Clough's january transfer dealings, for example replacing the technically better King by bringing the hard working, honest Porter back into the fold.
For this reason i would be reluctant to have Brandy back at the club come the summer time.

Totally agree with those sentiments. Nigel did exactly the same at Derby and never for one minute, did I expect anything else from him. Nigel himself shuns the limelight and has no time for headline seekers, but prefers honest, hard-working, footballers who are devoted to the team.

Derby are reaping the rewards of the structure and togetherness he installed and SUFC will reap the rewards too.

Don't think there is a way back for Brandy. He must be kickin himself with a team on a down playing on a field surrounded by sheds and seeing the mighty a Blades and their passionate support going to Wembley.

He can say he's not bothered all he likes but we know better Fabien. Get your sh!t together.

Note to toilet door posters. Get a picture of yourself as an Avatar like I did.

Nah, not a scary'un like that one.

Best avar on here belongs to stannyblade - always look forward to his post no matter what shit he writes :D

You know that on the internet thingy you can find pictures of ladies in various states of undress. I heard that there are also videos available, but I don't believe that the internet would allow that.

Nah thanks. I'm too shy
Besides. Why look at that shit when you have the best at home ;)

BTW - don't you ever sleep?
Starting to think that they lay on a special coffin for your international flights :o

There's a good thread entitled "Brandy" recently, covers all these points.

It's been debated to death, but I think there's still a place at the Lane for Brandy. Think he was bombed out on loan as a punishment for his petulance and lack of responsibility; rather than having a bad attitude per se. The fact that Nigel gave him a chance at the start, gives me the impression that there's nothing in training that's wrong with him.

I hope so anyway; he's definitely got the talent to make an impact next season (which I think will be at this level). He's certainly better than Miller (post injury).

I sleep when I'm travelling, still in Milan.

Agree with everything you have said there. One player we did loan out that I would like to see given a chance next season is florent cuvelier, we loaned him out for the right reasons he isn't a player you want in a relegation battle. In a promotion battle next season I think he will be a great player, hopefully Cloughie can work his magic on him.

I think he will go with Scoogs as his main Midfield playmaker as he likes the fast passing along with fast wingers game. The player I would like to keep most to help next year would be Coady. I'm hoping Liverpool realise its in their best interests to keep him developing at the Lane. I have to take back my previous post on Coady as he has been amazing for a couple of months now, he isn't prem yet though.
Also what I really like about our system is that it isn't built around one guy like Wilson did with McDonald. He did the same at Barnsley with Neil Redfearn. We have options if any midfielder is missing.

Yeah i agree ross,i think cuvelier would be brilliant next season in a promotion battle from the championship to the premier league;)

He's got a nice sounding name right?

I'd second that statement. New season gives new opportunities.

I imagine he won't be fit again until a few months into the season anyway, having done his cruciate in Jan. Doubt we'll see much more of him again.

He's only young, time is on his side to recover back to his best.

I enjoyed the thread months back about changing your avatar to something saucy to encourage weir. It had no affect, but I liked it anyway

Au cointreau mon frer, au cointreau.

It had exactly the right effect. He pissed off didn't he and we got The Cloughmeister Junior.

That's what I call "Kelly's Heroes" :D

It may not be down to Attitude but more down to the fact that Weir couldnt handle all the different personalities in the squad?

Weir came across as pretty insular & not very sociable.

I think Brandy will be back here next year. Weather he stays or is moved on that is the question.

I think it was because he has no understanding of how to play the game with what he has at hand.
His formulaic methods were taken straight out of the FIFA coaching manual of how to deploy galacticos.
They don't work unless you have spent €130m on talent.

Me - I like proper wingers creating chances and excitement in front of goal, a never say die attitude, swift counter attacks and sustained goalmouth pressure - getting tough when backs are against the wall and working for each other - players, management and fans - Oh, and red and white stripes.
