I hope Sheffield United don't come to regret this

For balance, the board -
➡️Spend £10m on a player that worsens the team
➡️Fall from 1st to 3rd then lose PO final
➡️Payout £500k in fines created by the ‘culture’
➡️Become a club everyone loves to hate due to managers antics
➡️See manager pick JLT every week despite funding a proven EPL defenders wages
➡️See teams like Hull Plymouth and Oxford have a better game plan despite been relegation contenders
➡️turgid football when even a win is a tough watch most games
➡️manager pissed up on a pub table singing
➡️manager wants Oli Mac back, you want data driven global recruitment strategy

To then keep this manager, is that not equally high risk?

Definition of insanity
Post of the day mate. Class.

I see that the OP mentions regret. Hasn't regret become an accepted emotion for any Blade?

Being a bridesmaid and never the bride seems to be our natural constituency. Who knows what decent leadership, both managerially and at Board level, might achieve, but we go with what we know and have become used to.

This is the season in a nutshell.

And Everybody does hate us...

Not one neutral wants us to win that playoffs.. not fucking one.

For me there wasn't a major rebuild required, everyone could see at the beginning of the season when souter came in the defence rarely looked in any trouble, so we need a good centre half, a defensive centre mid for cover and maybe winger or 2 for some width, all it needed was a little tinkering, when a new manager comes in he'll want a revolution when all was needed was a little evolution, come the end of the season and we win the title with 100+ points i will say it's inspired, but I can't see that happening at this moment in time, so I would say it's a very risky play by the owners

L
Not quite true, at least a dozen of my mates from cricket wanted us to win. That's a start anyway. 😂
Well im happy for you, did they also. Laugh when we lost ?

Everybody i spoke to was going with Sunderland.

God I wish id never come back here to work.

Anything other than promotion was going to lead to this understanding the urgency these owners have to get to the so called promised land . We don’t know the facts. We know CW has previous for confrontation with owners . Personally I think he was a dead man walking at the final whistle at Wembley. There is no room for sentimentality in the game today it’s a result business and I don’t think the Americans want long term ownership just to flip the club once we get to the prem which is why they are not taking a more relaxed view . If they turn us into the next Bournemouth Brighton or Brentford nobody will be bitching . The interesting days ahead but let’s get behind the boys anyway ! UTB ⚔️⚔️⚔️♥️
Or... We find ourselves searching for someone else in 12 months time following another promotion miss.

Yes it’s a gamble.

New manager has to finish in play offs to match Wilder last season. 🤷‍♂️

Whose fault was it jack Robinson left mayenda with enough space to
Park a cruise ship. ?
Not leaping to JLT’s defence entirely as for me, Holding should have played since he arrived, but having watched the game again since - Burrows bizarrely drifted into the middle of the pitch which left a load of space for Sunderland.

We all know that we have this season alone with the parachute advantages to get back to the Prem and the money tree. Miss out and we are back with the WBAs / Norwich’s / Stokes etc who used to be Prem teams and are desperately hoping to strike it lucky. We don’t want to regret fucking up the best chance of yo-yoing back up.

What presumably attracted the Yanks was that we have been brilliantly successful in spotting, developing and selling ( sometimes too cheaply) talent from a young age sometimes discarded by others. Aren’t we the best? Add AI to this and we could be flying.Great. So the last thing you should be doing is dismantling precisely the set up which nurtured this outcome. Wilder wasn’t certainly not the only one …. but has been an instrumental part in the leadership of the club and this success for the last nine years or so. Why thhe hell sack him for a Hull reject??

If we had gone up how would everyone think about keeping Wilder? Do you think he’d keep us up irrespective of the football we play?
