When watching the Blades , I don’t normally take too much notice of the performances of individual players from our opponents but there were a few last season which really caught my attention .

The two which stand out for me were those of Esteve for Burnley and Josh Murphy for Pompey .

In our Mach at Turf Moor I thought the former put in a performance which very few CB ‘s in English football could match including those in the PL .

As for the latter , he seemed to cause us massive problems every time he got the ball and looked by far the most dangerous and effective attacking player on the pitch . Following that performance , the fact that he had 21 goal involvements in a largely struggling side comes as little surprise .

I’m sure there are many others which Blades fans will have noticed and would be interested to hear them.

Burnley will do well to keep Esteve time on the ball reading the game interceptions as well as use of the ball.where did they pick up such an exemptional player and athlete.
Josh Murphy too has really come on!.Both premiership standard! Can see Esteve being a real star.

Sincerely though, it’s hard to think of many players that impressed me in that league. It really was a shit standard outside of the top 4
Maybe we were spoiled in recent years with so
many players obviously good enough be it Bowen, Lewis potter, Eze, grealish etc etc but yeah there's not many "he's ready" types that stood out

Azaz and Doak for Middlesbrough

I'd hope our scouting goes beyond "people who played well against us" which is what I think happened with Mcburnie, Robinson and Freeman 😂
Azaz dropped off second part of the season, Doak looked a real handful until his injury. He'd be a great loan signing if available

I can’t remember Esteve but definitely agree that Murphy looked good and from what I saw from of glimpses of their highlights, he was involved in most things good that they did. Didn’t Fanny about and tried to get an outcome each time he went forward.

Kiefer Moore

Watson at Sunderland. Tore us apart in one of the league games and did it again in the final. Off to Brighton now. Good luck to the lad. Cracking player.

His finishing was comically bad at Bramall Lane. The rest goes without saying.

First time poster after years of enjoying just reading. But I’ll add some personal knowledge here.

I know John Murphy - father of Josh and Jacob. In their earlier years, especially when at the Norwich academy, Josh was always considered the most likely of the two to “make it”. Over a beer a few months ago John told me it was always Jacob who was the most driven, most determined, hardest worker, most focussed. Because of that , and John is quite open about his feelings - and to use his words “they are both where they deserve to be” ie Jacob an established EPL regular at a huge club, and Josh moving around EFL clubs.

John says that since Josh took up with his present partner, and the birth of their first child, he has an extremely happy family and off field background and has “grown up”. This has lead to a fresh focus and real determination in Josh - more focussed, training harder, acknowledging his greater off field responsibilities etc. This is quite probably a major factor in in his recent improvement in his form on the pitch.

Josh and his family are “settled” at Portsmouth. Not saying that means he won’t transfer to another club as I simply don’t know that level of detail - and we all know that money talks

I think he’d be a great signing if we could get him

One not mentioned so far - Bali Mumba (Plymouth)

Can play Right or Left back or further up the wing. Great player.

We should get Cooper in his ear, but I think he'll get a PL move this summer.

There are some really good players in the Championship and we need to be cherry picking the best ones to replace Hamer, Souza, Anel if any or all of these leave.

Plus loanees which can be from the PL as well and we can be a bit more flexible with them.
