Yeah you've read it totally wrong.

We're going to have a training camp (somewhere - probably abroad & hot) but won't be playing any friendlies in the location of the training camp.

All our friendlies we are going to play will be AWAY from home as we are relaying our pitch. But we can't confirm them games until we get the green light to announce them from the hosting clubs

It’s just rinse and repeat of what we do every year. Waiting for other clubs is because we leave it too late to ask. For years now pre-season for any decent sized club has been about more than player fitness. We really need to catch up with what other clubs are doing. We always seem way behind. It’s like with safe standing. Everyone seems to have it sorted now. Not us.

We played Stuttgart pre-season the other year.

I agree, but I think there's something to be said for us constantly changing divisions.

I can understand it being hard to plan pre-season when relegation/promotion has a big impact on what dates we're available.

I agree. You learn nothing duffing up non league teams pre season. That's why the Stuttgart game was good, we learned something - worse was to follow.

That will be a well attended game, although I know the league Irish football scene is pretty shit. Leeds still get a lot of day trippers in from Dublin remembering the “once were playing in Europe” fondly into LBA as you can fly in at 10am and back in the evening, catching the game and everything. Although was quite amusing to see nothing turning up when they were in League 1

Yeah fair enough. I didn't mean certain status = 100% plan, uncertain status= 0% plan. Just that it will be a factor, and moreso for some clubs than others.

Northern Germany Even the smaller towns have excellent sports facilities, plus access to Bundesligue clubs. Hamburg, Bremen, Gladbach, Dortmund etc.
No shortage of watering holes for those who are so minded!.

Your assumption is incorrect. It has its challenges but it’s pleasant to walk around the park, a few nice places to eat and a few nice bars are springing up.
It has its areas with challenges but there’s no reason to go anywhere near them when visiting. I live between Matlock and Chesterfield and it’s no contest as to where I’d rather go on a nice day to watch football.
