Wilders on about taking time out this summer?

Transfer window opens 1st June FFS. Sorry Chris but there's literally no time for a timeout.

If we can make 2 great signings in early June then our quality players may feel encouraged to stay if they can see the potential.

We need:
*Commanding CB
*Proper Moore type CF but better.
*Proper competition for Campbell.
*Left wing backup for Hamer (I think BBD is quality when properly fit but he seems too injury prone)
*JRS to give Brooks competition. 7 goals in 1750 minutes. 1 per 250 minutes. Brilliant contribution!
* Choudhury for RB.
*Souza cover if Choudhury is RB
* Also if we sometimes play 4-2-3-1 then some one who can score far more than O'Hare.

Do not offer Brewster a new contract.
Loan Cannon out to whoever wants him with a view to selling for £5m.

If we're not much improved by mid June sack Wilder to allow new guy 8 weeks pre season.

Wilder won’t do any of that anyway. It will be bettis who works through the shortlist and negotiations.

If the bloke can’t have 2 weeks off work (meaning in a different location, he’ll obviously still be involved) the problem lies with you.

Wilder should get a 1 week holiday this week and another 1 week holiday after his early June statement signings.

Haha the old Sheffield United transfer window book will be getting dusted down as we speak

"Didn't know what league we'd be in"
"We needed a 'break'"
"Need to meet with American owners, they're in different time zones"
"Need to be good to be better than our culture carriers" etc etc
There is a mention of Wilder skulking off at the final whistle and saying he had not seen the players......the owners were both at the game at Wembley.
My guess is thats where Wilder went for a quicky with the Yanks.

Gk: Cooper
RB: ??? (Choudhury? but no guarantees)
RCB: ??? (New - Anel probably off)
LCB: ??? (Robbo as backup only)
LB: Burrows
RM/RW: ??? (JRS or BBD not enough impact)
CM: Peck
CM: Arblaster
LM/LW: ??? (Hamer probably off)
AM: O'Hare
ST: Campbell

That's 5 signings needed minimum, but could be 6 if stick with 442 as need a decent 2nd striker.

That's assuming Hamer and Souza leave.

Even if Anel stays I don't think he's good enough defensively in a 4 and needs replacing anyway.

The defence and CM should be simple to sort, if we don't sell

GK: Cooper / Davies?
RB: Kenny / Seriki
CB: Dunne / Darling / Robinson / Worrall?
LB: Burrows / McCallum
CM: Peck / Arblaster / Davies / Travis?

It's the attacking midfield positions that will be difficult and we may have to look outside the box for them. Brooks and O'Hare is not a strong starting point for that area of the pitch (assuming we do the right thing and sell Hamer)

Historically we leave transfer business to the last minute hopefully although I’m not wishing them out of the door but those who want to go will go quickly as to get replacements in quickly and get a better pick of the bunch personally if Wilder stays I can’t see much of a style change but hopefully improvements in player quality and consistency I still think it’ll be loans.

Apart from the ones mentioned I think Ryan One will be this seasons Osula and be sold pending big offers .
Peck may well come into the same category.
Think we'd all love to keep talented youngsters but realistically that's the model .

We can’t currently do a Leeds next season, they had the likes of James and Gnoto to back them up when they lost Summerville. Our squad is nowhere near as deep or experienced as theirs.

I’m trying not to stress because look at the beginning of this season. The difficulty is without Hamer, Souza and Anel, we don’t have a semi solid base to build around. We have no idea what arblaster will be like when he’s back, peck is young and still developing.

At this rate we’ll have a defence consisting of Robinson and Burrows, a midfield two who are relatively inexperienced players supported by no actual wide players and a strike force that is inconsistent and can’t seem to stay fit. We’ve got to be honest that’s a huge step down in quality. This for me is the reason we need to keep wilder at the helm, and desperately try to keep hold of Hamer, Souza and Anel. Changing a manager with all that already going on seems like a great strategy if you want to become the next Norwich.

We need to sweep up any good free agents and then go after the best in the division regardless of who they play for.

I hope new signings will also address the sides alarming lack of pace. The only regular starter with any real ability to out pace an opponent is Tyrese Campbell. Admittedly Brooks and Seriki are also rapid but consistent fitness seems to allude them.

I do think that the tendency to pass backwards is often due to a lack of pace, for example, Burrows who doesn’t back himself to out pace his marker and invariably takes the safe option back to Robinson. Enda and George both had great pace and could launch an attack with runs from our own half, which is something we miss greatly.

I agree with you and I’m pro Wilder but talking about being back on 1 July seemed like a misspeak!
July 1st is probably when the players are back or starting to come back but signings will have been started weeks/months ago with agents etc. Wilder could really work from home until then what's the point in going to the office to make phone calls and watch clips etc?!

Only 5 weeks until the next season starts to kick into life although every single year it's a bit slow to get going at all clubs.

Getting Arblaster back strong would be the best singing of the summer. We didn't have the same flow without him. Peck did well but different. Davies, peck, blaster and Souza means one of them will probably leave though! If it's souza the option we have on Hamza could happen. I don't particularly think he's the right fit at right back as he offers nothing going forward really.

Our weaknesses this year were wingers/wide players and having to play robbo. That's where we should focus first of all. Bbd, Brewster and rak saki probably replaced. Loans and maybe key here depending what youngsters are out there. Brooks will hopefully kick on a little bit.

Wilder doesn't do quick players 😂

Not fucking Robinson! He needs outing!

I very much doubt Wilder can ever switch off from united or any club he manages. I'm sure he needs a break but they'll be plans on place to sign players but the season has only just finished regardless. I think it will be quiet until mid July for any new arrivals.

Let's hope if he his in charge, he can bring players in what can last 90mins👍 and move quicker than a fucking snail!

I think I you have to remember that last summer the budget was relatively small. Burrows can play every match and has proved a superb signing. Campbell whilst with fitness issues to not play 90 minutes has proved to be an inspired signing. Campbell is no slouch neither.

We do need some pace for sure though, particularly on the wings.

Whether he stays on as manager or not, Wilder should be nowhere near transfers. He should be telling the powers that be what formation/s he needs players for and those paid to deal with recruitment should be identifying the players to fill those positions. Given that, he can have a fortnight or so off for me.

Wilder will not sign these type of players
