Dean Henderson

WTF??

Glad he didn’t get sent off but what’s the point in VAR if this goes unpunished?
That's what I don't understand - if he had been sent off , would Man City have had a free kick. I assume so. I thought it should have been a yellow but I think that wouldn't have led to a free kick. VAR is very unsatisfactory - it was obvious to everyone that it was handball so why no free kick.

I think they just didn't want to ruin the game and chose to ignore it. Was obviously the wrong decision, but the game would've been dead if Henderson got sent off there.

Wasn’t even a free kick for handling the ball outside the area 😂

There must have been a rule change that I’ve missed along the way …..

You can't go back and award a free kick (or indeed a yellow card) after the fact. It should have been picked up in real time, absolutely, but there's nothing they could do with VAR if they didn't deem it a red card offence once it had been missed.

It’s the only thing that makes any sense.

I’m very happy for the result but can understand why Pep is pissed off.

What is the actual point of linesmen ?

Yeah, exactly.

Common sense failed.
Yeah imagine if that happens to us next week & Sunderland’s keeper is not sent off & we lose the game. We’d feel sick & a massive injustice. So much as I love Henderson & am sick of City’s millions sweeping up trophies - the fact is that VAR screwed up big time - shocking decision. Henderson should have seen a red card.

VAR is useless in this country as the officials managing & using it are hopeless!

delighted for dean henderson. although i feel like a proud relative. as we all knew how good he was in 2019 & likely a blessing in disguise that man utd were blind to his talent because isnt a superstar

Thought he was destined for greatness from the moment I first saw him playing for Shrews in the 2018 playoff final. Was ecstatic when Wilder signed him.

Its a tough one for the officials, because i dont think this is the point of contact with the ball, despite the tv stopping it at this point.

Most of us at home can pause tv now and i get the point of contact with his arms and legs in a different position (his arm looks to be pointing the way hes facing and not out to the side and his right knee is bent inwards).

Yes, i need to get out more 😂.

Well done Deano not just for a great performance, but also upsetting Pep 👏

What ever happened today is irrelevant with Henderson. Something I do know is we should have signed him permanently. Ought to have pushed the boat out. Could have built a team around him. We would have been in Palaces position now

He was promised a run in man utds first team and had just signed a 150k a week contract

If we'd signed Henderson, we wouldn't have been able to afford Brewster or Burke

Absolute shambles of a VAR costing Man City an FA CUP

Why don’t fans realise all the refs & Var do is shirk every decision that affects games

Clear red card that they chose to ignore so that they didn’t ruin the cup final 🤷‍♂️

That decision, or lack of it, didn't cost city the game.
It was at the corner of the box and he could have scored. Maybe. They failed to put the ball in the net the whole match and hendo saved a penalty.
Unfortunately the new spoilt kids City, will have to get over themselves. Pep made a fool of himself on the pitch at the end and showed them for what they are.
