I'm talking about the people who don't want Premier League football, and think the Championship is the best place to be.
We've earned at least 91 points (2 more than promotion in 2019, and the same as promotion in 2023). With the potential to get 94.
Done the double over Wednesday without conceding a goal.
Had the best possible placing without going up automatically - 3rd.
And at least another 2, possibly 3 Championship games to go to!
Question for these people - would you rather we failed in the semis, or took it all the way to the final before failing, thereby ensuring another season in the Championship?

I’d rather we improved our style of football.

Don't want us to fail, just trying to see all angles.

I think we have several players who would flourish with an extra season in the championship but be left on the bench/loaned out if we go up.

I think we build an even stronger squad despite losing several key players (Hamer, Souza, Anel and Cooper)

Ipswich just spent £170m to come straight back down (yes they will keep a lot of players and be stronger)

Although I want the riches of the prem, and I want our club and players to play against the best and attract the best players.

I don't particular like idea of spending huge amounts of money to be relegated AND to hinder the development of key youth coming through and already in the squad.

Just my thoughts about the situation as a whole rather than it being about me wanting us to fail.

I agree with all the above,

I'm totally not bothered how this works out now,

I do want to get to the final
If we lose on penalties I will be looking forward to going again in the Championship with the opportunity for the new board to fund a better rebuild than last time, but as a Yorkshireman I dont want us to spend stupid money on Prima Donna's who only want the money and have no investment in the club

If we do go up I'll be happy in a way, at having another bash at the impossible dream on a shoestring, but not the (almost inevitable) loss after loss after loss.

So I'll be watching all the games, with a win / win mindset, and just enjoying the ride

Its an exceptional season in so many respects.

Prior to the season I would have taken a loss in the play off semi final - but now we're in it I want to win. What I don't want is a season of doom and gloom merchants in the premier league moaning about how poor we are - but I think I might be being a tad unrealistic

Get promoted on penalties in the final, get demoted to L2 because the owners are actually those Impractical Jokers blokes, spend 3 seasons getting promoted to build up to the excitement of the Championship

The people who don't want us to go up must look at Stoke, Cardiff, Middleborough, west Brom, Norwich and QPR as living their dream.

In other words they are absolutely moronic.
'Moronic' isn't a good word to use about fellow Blades who just happen to have a different opinion to you. Me, I'm along for the ride wherever it goes.

Want Blades to win every game but I don't like Premier League ... what an awful dilemma 🤔

How would you feel if we win the playoff final and dint go?
Look at it that way.

Having the opinion you don't want the club to be successful and secure is a bizarre sporting take though. You may aswell just go down the boozer with your pals if the football is completely irrelevant.

That COVID interrupted season was absolutely incredible and way better than any promotion or derby win imo

Premiership for me, what's the point of staying in the Championship without trying to improve, nobody of any talent would want to come here and we'd be down to 22k gates in no time and anyone with any sense would stop going

Honestly I want us to gain promotion through the playoffs, I won't be looking forward to having our arses handed to us week in week out with the odd win or draw here and there .
But my main wish is we do it having a go rather than sticking 10 behind the ball !! And before anyone shoots me down about the above statistics I agree we've achieved some amazing feats this season.
But !! I can't keep watching some of the turgid crap we've dished out this season.
We will need additions
Back up keeper, 2 centre halves, decent right back and forward looking wingers/attacking midfielder
Squad needs to be built with the intention of coming straight back, if we stay up then brilliant
But no aging last payday additions and no players top clubs are looking to send out on loan for FFP

But being getting promoted doesn't automatically bring 'successful and secure' does it. It brings the chance to do that or it brings the chance that we repeat last season. But as I said, personally, up or not, I'm here for the ride.

Do you want to ride a rollercoaster for all the ups and downs that come with it or on the kiddies fairytale brook?!

We already failed with 92 points...

Oh and one of the only prem teams to go down with 40 plus....

We love shit records :D

After we fail to get promoted with 94 points this season, i'm tempted to see us fall down to league two so we can make an attempt at holding the record for all three leagues.

Berkshire, genuinely I want us to go up and do well. However, i've seen too many sh*tshows not to be concerned whether we'll get it right this time or not (again). I just think you should be more tolerant of those holding a different opinion. Unless they're trying to tell you that the earth is flat of course

A preference that would hurt the club is daft though and should be treated as so 🤷‍♂️

It’s like losing your virginity, but to Daniella Westbrook

I mean a shags a shag, but fuckin awful watch

Go up, and hope law of averages says after 2 seasons of promoted teams straight back down we manage to pull it off, which looping back to my opening line would be preferable

I'd rather we would do ourselves proud and in the 100 year anniversary since last time win the final at Wembley.
